Warmonger DragonJax -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/8/2013 13:29:33)

The quest to get the pieces trolled me hard but this class helped me to get the grandmaster in PvP.I gotta try the class again long time since I used !

DragonlordKhan -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/8/2013 16:54:43)

I don't know if I'd say I like Deathknight more than Necromancer just yet, but I have to admit that it's a great class. A VERY nice blend of the Necro and Paladin, just like it's meant to be. And, even despite the element-lock of its multi, it deals with multiple enemies relatively well! The idea of inputing a class with it's very own armor set (yeah, other's have it too, but not at this scale), and technically a chain/set of quests for the armor itself, was a very good idea; I'm sad it wasn't utilized as much as it could have been. With a reliable stun, a decently powerful "Final" skill, and a host of other Zombie-Slaying (and raising) goodies, it might not be my first option of the Necropolis Armors, but it's definitely my second.

The thing that might turn me down from this class is the theme that it's got. It's one of the few classes that, to me, truly DO emit an evil aura behind it's powerful exterior. I mean, look at the Death Blade's Description:
quote:

This weapon is forged from a special iron which was mined by undead slaves in a cursed mountain north of Doomwood.
I know, I shouldn't be expecting any sunshines and rainbows from a class called Deathknight. But still!

Roxas45 -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/9/2013 10:34:41)

really looking forward to a revamp, even though I dont play as much now days cos of University and all.

Ah... One of my Favourite classes from when i started this game :)

And, a 9.0 revamp is much needed. The Mana Costs are too high now, compared to post 9.0 classes. :/
and please can a new (higher leveled) set be made of DeathKnight items? Im not saying the previous ones at a higher level, but something like a new set altogether. The art and animations you guys bring today could really be used to improve the DeathKnight.

And before getting the DA, I used to use this class a lot. :)
Really interesting concept of fusing necromancers and paladins.

Anyone up for a fusion of the pirates and ninjas? (you can ignore that.....)

I remember reading somewhere that there was an "un-official" DeathKnight helm? The DeathStalker Helm I think it was. Does this add to the "Ultimate" Attack?

salene -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/9/2013 11:40:37)

i really like death knight, the only exception being you cant replay the mini saga to get it. this aside, i love it SO much, and can't wait for a re-vamp

Dracojan -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/9/2013 13:00:11)

i dont like the final skill on the left side for mages. its never a good time to sacrifice 25% of your hp for 200% dmg. this suicide skills needs to vanish.

GearzHeadz -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/9/2013 17:32:52)

@Dracojan, weird I don't have to sacrifice my hp for any final attack... Only skill on DK I have to sacrifice for is curse.

darkwzrd4 -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/9/2013 17:42:20)

I liked deathknight when it first came out for the most part, but I didn't like how some skills that differed depending on base class. I think the revamped version should have one set of skills regardless of what your base class was. I also never understood why there was one fire skill and one ice skill. My opinion is that the skills should be ice based, darkness based, and some should depend on you weapons element.

One thing I did like is the skill that gave you a buffed attack if you wore all the deathknight items. I think that it is good skill, but the items are too weak for high level characters and would only hurt them. So I suggest that a merge shop is created to upgrade the deathknight items you have. Seeing how sir malifact is the deathknight trainer, I say give him the merge shop as well and use undead slayer badges as the item you use to upgrade the items. I mean we already use them to unlock the skills for the class, so why not also use them to upgrade the items associated with the class?

FrosticIce -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/10/2013 3:52:56)

Deathknight used to be one of my favorite classes. It was also one of the most popular classes around the time of its release and at one point even rivalled the DL armor for popularity. Its amazing offense coupled with its health draining ability was what made it so strong.
However I did not like the class just for its power. I also liked it because you had to complete two other classes to acquire it, which showed that it was a high level class and the fact that it was a combination of two other classes also was cool.
Another reason I liked it was that unlike many other classes it had a story attached to it. This not only helped the class stand out among the others but also made me more interested in it. As the story progressed I wanted it more and more, especially at the end where it described the full extent of its powers and once I got it, it certainly didn't dissapoint.
As well as the story the fact that there was a whole set that went with the class and that you could acquire these items by doing the quest also made the class very desirable, it was a good balance between effort and reward.
There are however a few skills that the class uses that are a bit useless: Wither and Inflict(which does more harm than good) for instance.
Also the skill that depended upon the items, once you are at a high level becomes useless as well, so maybe some new higher level deathknight items could be both interesting and useful.
Overall I really liked the class and it is still a force to be reckoned with (sad that this isn't true on the PVP[:D]).

Midnightsoul -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (8/14/2013 15:17:14)

The only moves I find necessary to change are the moves on the left mostly.

I do not want to see Coil changed or removed and stuff.

CasshernX -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (2/14/2014 3:24:22)

The "Cursed" ability takes too much HP versus how much damage you can dish out and toggling it takes a turn. [:'(]

Chaosweaver Amon -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (2/14/2014 14:08:57)

Deathknight is definitely one of those classes that has withstood the ravages of time; it can definitely hold it's own nowadays.

However, as strong as it is, maybe it could be better if it was an actual combination of Necromancer and Paladin. It'd be cool to see Paladin's light skills converted into darkness.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (4/20/2014 8:09:14)

A question the "Ultimate" skill on this class...do you need to have the DeathKnight items equipped for it to do more damage? or is the items being in your inventory enough for its additional effect damage to trigger?

Smog -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (4/21/2014 9:33:46)

Man I used to love this class when I first started playing, coil was my go to strategy for beating bosses.

They have to be equipped.

Effect: Attacks for 100% weapon damage. Every Deathknight item equipped adds another 20% damage.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (4/21/2014 10:01:13)

Ah I see...can't believe I missed the pedia info...I was kinda looking at the info on the guides section and it didn't mention whether the items needs to be equipped when describing the skill

DarkLore -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 19:39:24)

Tomorrow is hopefully the DK Revamp testing! YES! I'm only assuming given the order they're going in they planned on! Who's stoked?

crabpeople -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 20:08:52)

The hype is real. I'm expecting to be the best out of all revamps. I'm really curious about the dk's item set and what ash is going to do about the mage/rogue/warrior unique skills.

quote:

I am! Ash has done the best job revamping classes and DK will be no less than that!

Totally agree.

Blade5 -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 20:25:24)

Ash -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 20:51:49)

You might want to use Pally to earn some of the items for DK. There's full sets for levels 40-80 for Non-DA's, DA's, and, if you don't want to farm, for DC's. (The descriptions of the DC sets tell a story for an NPC that I'm going to include in my area later when we get to it.)

The base items you need will require one Undead Slayer Badge each. (Battle for Moonridge no longer drops OBSCENE numbers of Dark Crystals so you should be able to get those there now)

Non-DA items will require varying amounts of Dusk Essences. Those are crafted using 1 Braughlmurk Binding and 1 Shadow Bone Shard. (I'd get lots of the merge requirements if I were you...just saying.)

The DA items will require Umbral Essences. These are crafted using 1 Dusk Essence and 1 Unlucky Doom Essence. (I'd also get lots of these too.)

Doom king of...DOOM! -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 21:54:32)

I don't know if i'm more excited for the skill update or the art update anymore D:

Drop_Bear -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/25/2014 22:03:31)

Between the new art, new skills and new merge shop items this is going to be great, the storyline on the DC item descriptions should be interesting as well.

Alpha Centipede -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/26/2014 2:34:00)

@Ash:
quote:

So does that mean we might get an Ashendal NPC in the foreseeable future?

NagisaXIkari -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/26/2014 4:55:56)

Part of me likes the whole merge shop thing to get the items, but another part of me finds that it.would be too monotonois to be truly worth it.

NatsuDragneels -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/26/2014 6:07:17)

The hype is really coming! OH MY GOSH!

Dracojan -> RE: =DF= DeathKnight Discussion Thread (9/26/2014 7:21:25)

hype and excitement... :D
Ash, how many of each should we get. lots could mean 100s and i dont think it would be so easy to get that many in 1 day
