Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:30:04)

Maybe tomix wanted aegis to be messed with. the whole morally wrong thing is silly when it comes to choice dont make that choice simple as that jimmny cricket wont be mad at you its silly that people would deny someone something that in the end wouldnt effect them.

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:35:13)

maybe or maybe he started this just to mess with us. to make us talk more and get distracted. Or or he is trying to gather ideas for the class by letting us argue.
Staff of games are tricky people.

monstervet -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:36:18)

@lightriftwalker122
You dare bring my love of chocolate and all things chocolate into the side of evil? Never! if the side of fleashweaver has chocolate i shall leave chocolate forever......sorry chocolate we had a good run 20+ years....oh well i move on, not to vanilla, perhaps cinnamon?'
Whit chocolate? (its technically not chocolate since it has no cacao in it and is the fat)

thats me being overdramatic, nope im still neutral.

@ Mystical Warrior
Tomix said it was the price he said it in the first discussion.
let me dig up the quotes:

quote:

If you'd have to devour Aegis in order to be able to unlock the Fleshweaver class, would you do it?
This is a serious question.
I can make a Fleshweaver class in the future, but you'd have to absorb your only one soulally to unlock it.

If it will be in game, it will be canon.
If it gets in game.
That depends on you guys.
I can fulfill your wish... if you are willing to pay the price.

Once you train as a Fleshweaver, soulweaving as well as any other form of weaving might be locked out.
Possessing others/body jumping is not a fleshweaver skill.
It's what Roirr does.

No changing. To become a Fleshweaver, a price has to be paid. This price is Aegis.
I've said it twice. I can't make myself clearer.

4 quotes from Tomix in this discussion.

Back to the point in hand, i feel like Fleshweaver should be like entropy a no-equip class, you know accessories, helms and capes dont show and such?

I wonder if Soulsmith will have some equipment be it helmet or ring or even trinket with a skill (some poeple really wanted it as a class) once we master it?
Do soulsmiths only soulsmith weapons? Can soulsmith be used as a verb? Do soulallies like pie?
These questions arise in my mind, as for the founders of the weaving families, they create the greatest interest of all in my opinion, will we ever see them? If they are dead could some very lucky weaver have them as a soul ally? (Imagine ther original soulsmith helping you soulsmith)

@Dark Lord Urmi
some people adhere to morality for there own reasons, perhaps they fear the monster lurking inside, who knows?

All i know is i cant play as the bad guy, oh i can try but i always end up strange, ever played a zombie game? ever turned into the zombie? i did once i made him jump off a cliff cause i was so annoyed at being the zombie and being forced to turn others to zombies, its just not my "thing".
DF Zombies are different though, so thats cool.

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:42:09)

^ you probably cant take this seriously but i will respond as if we are.

thats the power of choice having morality means nothing if you cant exercise it yourself sure you can be forced onto the good path but wouldn't it mean more if you refused an ACTUAL choice that is truly an offer and not a joke ending.

Also REAL consequences long term effects! how could anyone deny something with so much possibility!

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:48:00)

I would put my-self in the chaotic good section, that's the best I can say. I will break my morals and the law if it does enough good and such. Or it just really is super funny prank, or puts a huge monkey wrench in a evil persons plan

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:48:57)

^ thats too is a possibility perhaps roirr is going to eat aegis and he begs us to take him right before to dely his growing power.

flashbang -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:52:25)

Earlier here in the thread, kyle asked Tomix that and he said it would be spoilers if he told us.

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:55:52)

yes i remember, its why its speculation at this point. He seemed like he thought it through.

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:56:35)

I suggested that , tomix could let us have a new soul ally after words. Aka Pandora. She would feel bad for us. And aegis would sorts live on I mean he WOULD have a strong will, but people say that would not be fair and such. I man if we went that route atleast we CAN keep all the classes canon and useable/

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 19:57:47)

i still see it like choosing mage warrior or rouge you are locked out of the advanced versions of those classes. its also give a reason to have an alt. Or even a prestige class i mean you cant choose the other prestige if you go one way

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:05:49)

Well if they had enough gall to they MAKE you have to be one and somehow make it so you can get aegis out or lose the powers and get new ally or somehow restore aegis.?

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:09:22)

it wouldn't be forced tomix even said it was a choice so no worries about that. if it was the scenario i mentioned it would most likely be you jump on stopping roirr and eat aegis or you distract roirr in a fight and save him.

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:11:58)

That would work urmi. that would bloody work.

flashbang -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:14:18)

spoiler:

Sorry to burst your bubble, but since Pandora was holding Envy down when he was banished, Pandora was also banished.

monstervet -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:14:45)

no they stated that quite often no time travel shenanigans to bring back aegis, this is an all or nothing, (which is why i prefer the nothing) i guess this applies to any magic trickeries that may be used to TRY and bring him back.

@Dark Lord Urmi
Im not forced into anything by morality,i simply use it as a way for me to consider things, not with logic but morally, kinda like a scale or ruler so i can determine how things look from a moral point of view.

However enough of that, before i get philosophical.

I feel overall this is a thinker, and its good, a class that makes you think of your choices wisely, often times we have the option of having everything, but this time there is something different, we have to make a choice.
Its a nice idea, but we;ve spent a week discussing it and have come to many decisions, looped around, gone off discussion made separate discussions and well we still havent all agreed upon something. Its interesting it really is, i feel like we should have come to a point of compromise by now.

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:18:13)

monstervet i meant forced from gameplay point of view. but i agree at this point its going round and round i think we have talked fw to death soul smith is still a good topic however.

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:19:06)

Ah dang it. well anyway when did I say Time travel? and well I forgot Pandora went poof. . Mh well wouldn't it take just a SMALL portion of her soul for her to eventual recover? she is super powerful we do not know the extent of her power.
We could get her counter part. Hope

monstervet -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:28:12)

@ Solarego
you didnt say time travel however someone mentioned that WAAAY over back in the beginning and he said that wouldnt be allowed, time travel would be the most "convenient" way oof bringing Aegis back, however i think Tomix meant that Time Travel and any other way of bringing Aegis back wouldnt be allowed. I think its like Serenitys death, no way of bringing them back, kinda deal.

Yup Soulsmith is still nice and fresh, not much too talk about since its not a class, mostly questions, do we have to learn specifics? l mean is there a difference in making a weapon that is infused with ice elements as opposed to fire elements?
its those little details that are bugging me.

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:31:53)

it may be more about talking with spirits and asking them if the want to become a weapon.

Solargeo -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/5/2015 20:33:18)

What about my hope soulally idea no one think that would be a cool idea?

Sakurai the Cursed -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/6/2015 2:43:33)

quote:

Its interesting it really is, i feel like we should have come to a point of compromise by now.

That's the thing though; there's no compromise to come to, since Tomix has said that eating Aegis (and maybe losing the other weaving classes/functions, though he hasn't actually confirmed that, only said we might) is an unavoidable prerequisite. The people "for" want it in-game and the people "against" want it not in-game, simple as that; the two are mutually exclusive. Since it'd be a completely optional thing, putting it in-game is the closest thing to a compromise that's possible - bar Tomix changing his mind about the prerequisites - and that's literally the exact thing that the people "against" don't want.

Of course, as a few people have pointed out, we don't know what the story will actually entail... It could be that what happens isn't the incredibly immoral/evil choice that people are assuming (i.e., Aegis asks us to absorb his power to help us defeat Roirr or something), which would in itself make putting it in-game the compromise that most on both sides want. But, it also could be the incredibly immoral/evil choice that people are assuming, so you can see how this might be a difficult thing to come to a consensus about.

god of chaos -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/6/2015 8:00:21)

^. That is another issue, yes. We don't really know much, so the ones against are assuming there will be more negatives to come from this.

DD.CLYDESTER -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/6/2015 10:40:37)

Well I guess we'll just have to wait. Red Lightning, Flesh lightning of the flesh weaver

Dark Lord Urmi -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/6/2015 12:38:55)

^ where are you getting flesh lightning from? O.o

Break Eventide -> RE: FleshWeaver and Soul Smith Class II (5/6/2015 14:14:53)

If I had to guess, "Flesh Lightning" is probably imagination getting tangled up in the general Star Wars vibe of early week and fusing the Sith and Fleshweaver ideals into one character. Nothing canon, and probably not very likely, since lightning isn't very... fleshy, but it's a creative thought! ...The more I think about it, "Flesh Lightning" just sounds gross. Think about that burnt meat smell...
