Intro

So far what I have noticed is that until today, to try and balance ED, there has been many nerfs.

However this update saw a decent buff for the BH class, i.e. the Static Grenade. I think it has been a very good success in bringing it level with the Tech Mage class, however of course, comparing it to other classes it may not be as balanced. In my opinion these classes are the CH and Tactical mercenary.

I think the devs have done a great job in this buff to BH, showing that buff can help achieve balance and not only nerfs should be tried. So here is my opinion about a unbalance and its solution. Please give it a thought before commenting because I am trying to be as impartial as possible.

Currently there are only 2 classes which cant drain energy without having to use up energy. These are the CH and TLM. All other classes can drain the opponents energy at no cost of energy and also regain energy at no cost. Although the CH and TLM's energy regain is free to here is the issue:

CH:

In the previous update, CH's Static smash got a buff, but I feel its is not as much of a buff as it seems in the first sight. Here is why:

Firstly the cooldown of static charge has been increased by 50% of what it was before. This itself decreases the effectiveness of the static charge buff by 50%.

Secondly defence has been buffed this update (eg. hybrid armour) + malf has been nerfed (which most static charges rely upon for decent static smash) + offence has been lowered. Again all these decrease the affectiveness of the static charge buff.

Hence in my humble opinion static charges buff has been cancelled out.


TLM:

Battery backup has been nerfed this update.

The unbalance:

With four other classes that have the ability to drain/leech the opponents energy at no cost, the problem we are facing is that CH's static charge and TLM Battery backup have become much less useful. This is because in most situations, the opponent is either going to drain or leech this energy and hence it is more of an energy source for the other 4 classes.


The solution:


My suggestion to balance all classes is to buff the CH's EMP and the TLM Atomic smash. This would mean that the fear of getting your energy drained as a CH or TLM would be gone because even though the opponent may drain your energy, you could do the same to them hence achieving equilibrium.

Conclusion:

This will make draining/leeching/gaining energy free for all classes making it much more balanced. Of course this may not achieve complete balance due to some drains/leeches being weaker than others but its the first step that I believe needs to be taken.

@beaststyles i dont quite understand the problem with tlm as i only see the artillery poison builds, or the surg strike builds in which battery backup serves quite sufficiently to thepoint where it's a necessity... could you give an example

Good question, I will try my best to explain. If you still don't understand please let me know i will try harder :P

Firstly as I have said I don't have TLM account yet. Do hope to get all classes soon just TLM and BM to go:P

Anyway, I have faced them with all other accounts and specially with my BH and Mercenary, I know that whenever they use battery backup its mine (maxed static grenade and Static smash). Than they will most likely have no energy left to take my energy or they use some energy to atomic smash me and take my energy. You see here is the problem. I just drained them dry for free and they either cant drain my energy because of not enough energy or they have to use whatever left over energy they have to take some of delete some of mine (costs them energy while doesn't cost all other classes (except CH)). I believe it would restore balance If they could drain energy for free too. I could show you if you have a TLM account:P would be easier to show.

With regards to artillary abuse account you are probably right that it wont affect them, but lets not forget that's just one build, and we shouldn't limit any class to only one viable build.

in regards to classes we are the same as i havent done tact merc or blood mage, however i can only go by what i've seen and for tact the two builds i've listed are the only ones i've seen as of late... i actually have seen some interesting blood mage build that beat me even with my static emp (i dont max out skills or focus on a particular stat completely as i dont see it necessary for bh) but even with static emp this blood mage had it figured out and though she was 3 lvls higher it was a completely thrilling match to have lost and her stats weren't outrageous either, i havent used my merc since the update so i dont know exactly how they are affected from what i've seen they actually should be the op class with tech and def seeing as their hybrid is now really good (if people would actually learn to use it and not be stuck on the fact it's no longer passive) not to mention you have bunker that crits and surg strike and a reliable way to drain and regain energy if you plan accordingly

no blood mage is worst class now. destroyed bloodlust and deadly aim that means bm dont have strength, dont have protect, dont have malfunction, dont have smoke, energy parasite is weak. so. im blood mage and i dont know what to do against bh and against tech mages i dont have anything for fight. even ch has static charge and emp. bm dont have nothing. merc have static smash. energy parasite 15% is not enough. u can steal only 15 energy from 62. its so low

@kaierti1 you seem to simply complain a lot without any real reason, blood mage may not be perfect but isn't close to as underpowered as a cyber hunter...period. You seem to be stuck on the no longer passive skill when in fact mark of blood is a much better skill as it's useful for both 1v1 and 2v2, deadly aim was never meant for strength builds to begin with as those with strength build didn't have that much damage difference to begin with as they already did a huge amount of damage, blood mages don't need to steal that much mp as they really don't need to use that much to compete unless you're relying on one certain skill that relies on one certain stat in which you should get a better strategy
