Requirements: Select the Talk option from Ahimsa and Tipu in Swordhaven (Book 3) Release Date: July 29th, 2022 Objective: There has to be more information on the Rose somewhere in Swordhaven... Objective completed: You... are going to have a headache. Experience rewarded: Scaled Gold rewarded: Scaled Monsters (1) Angry Clawkin (2) Clawkin Wanderer (1) Mushroom (2) Nature Elemental (1) Seed Spitter (3) Sneevil (2) Tog NPCs Circe Librarian Rose Soldier Rewards Emerald Key Willow Bark Medicine Dialogue *Per Ahimsa and Tipu's orders, you pay a visit to the Swordhaven Library; you open the door to find the librarian going through some books and old papers, looking for something specific.* Librarian: Expense Report: Residential Sewer Extermination, three years old... Librarian: Hmm, Demolition Cost Projection for that old abandoned house.... Librarian: Ugh, really? They kept eight year old timesheets for the city guards? <Character>: Hi, excuse me... Librarian: The library isn't open yet. Librarian: I've got years of boxes of apparently useless bureaucratic paperwork that they've archived to go through... Librarian: ... and no time to help you find a copy of The Dragon Rogue and the Dravir or The Paladin's Dark Secret... Librarian: ... or whatever saucy novels all the bored guards are reading at the moment. <Character>: No, it's not that... I just wanted to ask you a few questions. Librarian: [Disgusted Noise] Librarian: Liste- *Both of your eyes widen in extreme surprise upon glancing at each other.* <Character>: Circe? | Um... Do I know you? Circe: You. *Circe throws daggers at you, but you shield yourself; Circe flips over you, removing her skirt midair; you glance at Circe as she smirks, then kicks a table in your direction, but you dodge it; frowning, she draws her sword.* If you have a Dragon Amulet: <Character>: You're not getting away this time, Circe! <Character>: What are you doing here?! Circe: Attempting to work. But you've been busy yourself, haven't you? Ally to The Rose, and the Vind. Playing both sides, are we? But to what end...? <Character>: Playing both sides? I'm protecting those who need me. I'm trying to bring peace to Lore! Who are you working for? If you don't have a Dragon Amulet: <Character>: Okay, clearly there's been some kind of misunderstanding Circe: <Character>. Hero of Falconreach. Frozen for years. Ally to The Rose, and the Vind. Playing both sides, are we? But to what end...? <Character>: You know a lot about me. But I'm not playing both sides. I'm just helping out whoever needs me. For peace. For those who can't protect themselves. *The commotion has drawn unwanted attention as a Rose Soldier knocks on the door to the library.* Rose Soldier: Is everything alright in there?! Circe: Look, I don't know what you want here in Swordhaven, but I can't afford to have my cover blown. <Character>: You're the one who attacked me! This seems more like your problem than mine. Circe: Oh, I'm sure our little scuffle won't reflect well on you either. Attacking a poor defenseless librarian like this! <Character>: Seems like it's better for both of us to sort this out without The Rose, then. ...Sound good? *Circe glares at you, knowing you have a point, then opens the door to pacify the Rose Soldier at the entrance.* Circe: Hiiiiiii! Circe: Ooooh, everything's fine! Circe: This lovely <Class> was trying to help me rearrange the shelves and they fell right over! So clumsy! <Character>: Hello! <Character>: My bad! Rose Soldier: Are you sure...? Circe: Thank you soooo much for checking though! Sighs. Now to straighten up this mess! Circe: Have a nice day! *Circe slams the door shut; the Rose Soldier turns away to leave, but turns back toward the door with suspicion, then shrugs it off.* Circe: Right. I guess I'll go first. I'm surveying the situation here in Swordhaven for... concerned parties. <Character>: Who, exactly? Circe: ... Circe: One of the King's daughters actually. Circe: Apparently, she's been trying to find out more information about The Rose. Did a respectable job, even. Circe: ...and hasn't been satisfied with what she and her... friends have found out so far. <Character>: Really? <Character>: Princess Victoria hired you? I find that hard to believe. Circe: And if I was working for someone else, you'd have just confirmed my target! No wonder she couldn't rely on you to figure things out. <Character>: I've been busy helping defend the Vind. The things The Rose have done in the swamp... <Character>: I'm looking for a way to meet with Jaania herself, on behalf of the Vind. I don't suppose you know a way into the Ivory Tower? Circe: Lady Jaania. The Ivory Tower. You're actually insane, aren't you? <Character>: If you can't help, then just say so. But I'm sure our... mutual benefactor would be interested to learn how you couldn't help her friend. *Circe glares at you.* Circe: I know a way in. Circe: While we wait for dark, make yourself useful and help me fix this ridiculous mess you made. *By nightfall, you and Circe go inside the sewers and hide behind some crates; you see two Rose Soldiers guard a circular gate; Circe blows some blue, glowing dust at the soldiers, rendering them unconscious.* Circe: They won't be asleep for long. Circe: The basement to the Ivory Tower should be through that grate, hero. Circe: And this is as far as I go. Circe: According to the plans I found, this leads to the basement of the tower. If you get caught... I was never here. Got it? *You get up and run past Circe to enter the gate.* <Character>: Circe, if you alert The Rose while I'm in there... | ...You're not going to backstab me, are you? Circe: I wouldn't dream of it. But if you find some way to blow my cover, <Character>... Circe: The Rose will be the least of your worries. *You fight your way through various monsters while exploring the basement; eventually you find a door with a golden lock.* <Character>: Locked... I nee- *A creature approaches you from behind and knocks you out in a single punch; as your vision dims, you glimpse its face before you black out; like other enslaved creatures it has light blue eyes; scene fades to black.* Complete Quest Other information Second location replaces the first after completing the quest for the first time. Pop-up headlines during the quest: quote:
A plant from Betrubung? Another link to the sewers... but this grate is welded shut. Empty cages of several sizes. It looks like someone is sleeping down here... More empty cages. Mushrooms from the faerie forest... but they're missing... something. One of Zadd's shackles... One tree is flourshing and the other is struggling. One tree is in bloom and the other is barren. Sacks of food. Someone's reading spot? The Angry Clawkin was working on this. The pillow is still warm. These boxes are empty. This alchemy table has seen recent use... This door is locked. This plant is dried out. Your stomach twists as your mana seems to be... pulled toward this orb.
