(3) The BeastMaster - Boss
Runed Chains (All Versions)
*The brown muscular creature lurches back and forth as you regain your consciousness and get back up.*
Beastmaster: You... you should not be here.
<Character>: ...pretty sure you don't belong locked in a basement either, buddy.
*The creature scratches the wall in a zig-zag pattern with his hook hand.*
Beastmaster: Outside is not safe.
*You ready your weapon with the impression the creature will strike you at any second.*
<Character>: Inside doesn't seem particularly safe either...
Beastmaster: You struck first.
*You take a blow, but you stand strong. A scrape on the Beastmaster's arm bleeds. His green blood drips and hits the floor, causing a small plant to grow in its place.*
Beastmaster: There is strength in you... and conflict.
<Character>: Really? The giant forest creature that lives in the basement of a stone tower in the middle of a city is telling me I'm conflicted.
Beastmaster: There's more to a pond than the surface.
<Character>: I know a guy on Sho'Nuff that you'd get along with.
*Angered, the Beastmaster picks it up and throws it at you. Fortunately, you dodge the hurling barrel.*
Beastmaster: You invaded. You hurt those I care for.
<Character>: I'm trying to stop the one who captured you and rescue you too.
Beastmaster: Your methods require improvement.
*The Beastmaster is still undefeated. You drink a health potion to regain some endurance while keeping your guard up.*
Beastmaster: Humans. You're a confusing race.
*He spits on the floor and some colorful mushrooms grow on it.*
Beastmaster: Long ago... I taught one of you the ways of the Beastmaster.
Beastmaster: How to tame. How to care.
Beastmaster: I still dream of the tiny town on the Bay... of the tiny human who would pet a Grinder fearlessly. She... she was my friend.
<Character>: Wait... Grams?
Beastmaster: Gramercy lives?
<Character>: I... I'm sorry... but I think she's gone.
*The Beastmaster nods his head with a small hint of grief before looking up at you.*
Beastmaster: Was it you?
*The Beastmaster sits down on the floor and reminisces about his past.*
Beastmaster: Another human... he took my fist. Another... drew her blade across my flesh.
Beastmaster: I was lost. The forest... the elementals... everything cried out in pain and I could not heal it.
Beastmaster: Then, the frozen one came... and gave me purpose again.
<Character>: With shackles? By trapping you inside stone walls?
*The Beastmaster looks up at you and gives off a cold stare.*
Beastmaster: I wonder what kind of human you are... I can see darkness and light but I fear your head is made of stone.
*The Beastmaster recognizes your perseverance, but is still bent on bringing you down.*
Beastmaster: Even with a head of stone you have a heart of fire. I will mourn you after snuffing it out.
*Suddenly, the Beastmaster turns slightly cyan and is freezing. The plants and mushrooms have withered and an ice wall blocks you from the Beastmaster. You ready your weapon once again, but Jaania enters the room; it was her who divided you and your opponent.*
Jaania: The front door was available, <Character>. Antagonizing my Beastmaster and his charges... was unnecessary.
*Scene fades to black.*
