I have made balance suggestions in the past about solving many issues.
However we all have our different views on how ED should be balanced.

so to all of you out there, how would you balance Epicduel?
what would you change or implement to make the game better?

for me? i would implement these ideas/changes

1) Custom Skill Trees
2) Stat Balance
3) Passive Armors
4) Combat Rating
or an ally link type of system for 2 vs 2.

5) HP Change
I would make 1 stat = 3 HP.
yes battle would be longer, but it would reduce the luck effects and allow for more strategy to be thought of long term

6) Balance Skills
i would balance the skills per category on #1 (#3 would be balancing passives)

all these ideas combined IMO would make Epicduel a much better game.

I Support The Custom Skill Tree That Would Shut The Complainers Up Because You Could Get What Ever Skill You Want So No Class Would Be Up Or Op.

@sensei
this isn't about supporting ideas. its about discussing what YOU would do to change and improve epicduel.

if you wish to support the custom classes idea, you can go to the specific thread designed for that. (its linked)

I'd rather 1 stat point just equal 2 health/energy, like it used to. More build diversity.

^Meh, I didn't like it. Too much hp abuse.

Maybe make health progression like

+1 +1 +2 +1 +1 +2...

@ midnight

But still when we had it like that there were a lot more diverse builds at the higher levels as well since you didn't have to spend so much stat points on health and energy and could power up other areas without the threat of low health.

As for my idea for epic duel it would go like this.

change the progression stats so that all of them power up equally and raise HP according to level meaning that after you get to a certain level your HP will raise without the need to add stat points to gain HP.

With more HP, equal power in stats, and less whining (last part we can't control) all the diverse builds will come back and it will be fun for all.

This isn't necessarily balance, but I'd prefer that luck reflected about 5% of one's win rate, and skill the other 95%. Right now, it's about 20%-ish luck and 80% skill, which really shouldn't be happening in my opinion considering the game is focused on 2 real-life people fighting against each other. Also, the emphasis on tactical motives in ED has been established when they nerfed IA and other similar changes, so it just shows that the game should really be focused more on tactical application rather than luck.

Actual balance stuff:
-All skills are equal in their effects (keep in mind they're still unique, they're just all equal. For example, plasma cannon is way weaker than bunker, assimilation is far stronger than static, etc...).
-Investment in a skill is always worth it and is equal to the benefits of investing in another skill. For example, investing in cheap shot after level 2 is nearly useless, but it's necessary to invest in bunker if you actually want good damage with it.

My Ultimate Solution to balance -
During account creation, have a nice quiz to test your behavior and intelligence. That will for sure stop all brainless build copiers from playing, thanks to which build balance will be alright. Though ED will go dead after this, seeing as 70% Players come under the above category.

Locking up as this is the exact point of the balance forum. There's no need at all to discuss balance ideas outside of that forum or discuss the threads in there (this goes for suggestions of any kind.) Please remember to keep all balance discussion here - http://forums2.battleon.com/f/tt.asp?forumid=415
