The Professor Location: Dark Pursuit, The Professor, Dreamscape, Nightmares, Master of Puppets, The Fight Begins!, Wrath of Wargoth, Breaking Crystal, Wrath of Wargoth (Quest), Disarray, The Merge Quests given None Shops owned Escelense Dialogue Dark Pursuit ???: Enough! That's enough. ???: I'd rather my apprentice stay in one piece if you don't mind. The Professor: Well done, apprentice. I commend your loyalty and temper. The Professor: As for the rest of you... My apprentice, though hotheaded, is not sloppy. The Professor: I would like to know how you managed to find me. The Professor: We can take the next steps from there. The Professor The Professor: ...Well? The Professor: What rift analysis? The Professor: I am no Riftwalker. I destroyed my portal from Somorah. I cleaned up the threads... The Professor: Would Wargoth know to track me with this? The Professor: ...I see. I... I see. The Professor: No. There are no mages here. The Professor: As for what you want from me, I can assume you want help fighting Wargoth. The Professor: My apprentice has informed me of Wargoths' attacks, and news of Atrea's appearance here. The Professor: I can only assume that Wargoth has arrived in pursuit. And if you lot have found me here, then it's only a matter of time before Wargoth does. The Professor: ...And you led his minion straight to me! The Professor: All of you! Catch it before it escapes! Now! It cannot be allowed to report back to Wargoth! The Professor: That was too close. Apprentice, run the perimeter. Make sure nothing else is loose in here. The Professor: I gave you a task, apprentice. I will be fine. The Professor: If you intend to tell me about his past crimes, there is no need. The Professor: I am aware. The Professor: He confessed them to me himself, after I found him living alone out here. The Professor: It's thanks to my apprentice that I've been able to stay hidden, while he fetches the resources I need. The Professor: He has shown no signs of betrayal, and I believe he wishes to atone for his mistakes. The Professor: I would appreciate it if you didn't antagonize him further than your presence here already does. The Professor: Thank you. The Professor: With that out of the way, allow me to share my plan for dealing with Wargoth. The Professor: I am creating a trap to ensnare him, sending him through a portal to another dimension entirely. The Professor: There will be contingencies. The Professor: A trap needs bait. I would be that bait, and I would go with him. The Professor: The way his vengeance is inflamed... The Professor: He would stop at nothing to get to me if he knew where I was. The Professor: ... The Professor: Ha. You think I'm an old fool, absorbed by my own ego? The Professor: I confronted him, face-to-face, just once, on Somorah. The Professor: I was lucky to escape, but the way his hatred for me was seared into his every attack... The Professor: Since then, every time I close my eyes, I feel his burning fury, I'm enveloped by his wrath. The Professor: Even now, he haunts my dreams. The Professor: ...It is more than that. Every time I try to sleep, our minds clash, our dreams and fears collide. The Professor: No. I don't think he's controlling it when it happens. The Professor: When we meet in dreams and nightmares.... He asks me the same. He demands to know how I'm invading his mind. The Professor: He wishes to escape me as much as I wish to escape him. The Professor: So, when I say that he would do anything to be rid of me, I know it. The Professor: That admittedly is a concern. I've done my best to hide my location and other secrets so far... The Professor: ...But it is not impossible that he wears me down, eventually. The Professor: So, I either suffer Wargoth's intrusions into my mind, or let an inexperienced Riftwalker cut through my psyche. The Professor: I'll take the risk. The Professor: I trust you all. I trust the Atealan Empress. Prepare what you must. Dreamscape The Professor: You're lucky, <Character>, that my apprentice was here to help cover your tracks. The Professor: As long as he's with me, his name is apprentice. The Professor: And you're so innocent? The Professor: There are more important things to focus on. Don't forget why you're here and who threatens this entire world. The Professor: *sigh* The Professor: I can never truly escape Wargoth. I can only try and give myself peace while I'm awake. The Professor: After Somorah... after being chased by his minions through this worlds wilds... I still have to see Wargoth every night in my dreams. The Professor: You don't understand, <Character>. Wargoth... we are literally connected. The Professor: I can't escape someone who is able to chase me every night when I close my eyes. The Professor: No, they're not. It's two minds clashing. Two psyches battling. And there's nothing I can do to stop it. The Professor: He asks me the same question. The Professor: It's apparently not an arrangement of his. He wishes to escape me as much as I wish to escape him. The Professor: I, at least, have figured out a way to bring allies.... The Professor: ...in to protect myself. The Professor: I am... The Professor: ... decidedly more... delicate than Wargoth. The Professor: Hmm.. The Professor: Alright, follow me to the dream pod... The Professor: Sweet dreams, <Character>. Nightmares The Professor: Enough! Get out! The Professor: ... The Professor: ... The Professor: I... I don't know. The Professor: I... I must sit. The Professor: The first thing I remember... is waking up on Somorah. The Professor: Well... that's not true. The Professor: I remember pulling. Tearing. The Professor: Then waking up in the care of the Ateala. The Professor: Wargoth has haunted my dreams since then. The connection is only between us through. I... I think... The Professor: I think I am Wargoth. Master of Puppets The Professor: I am in more danger now than ever. The Professor: If I really am connected to Wargoth as I suspect though... The Professor: ... The Professor: ...killing me could mean his end as well... The Professor: It could also mean the end of existence... The Professor: ...if he has as much power as I suspect. Hiding is no longer an option... we need to find out more. The Professor: There has to be someone... The Professor: ... Who on this world bends fire like Wargoth? The Professor: Who did you first suspect when Wargoth's minions started attacking, <Character>? Who else would send in minions of pure fire? The Professor: Xan... Xan... but he hates imps.... The Professor: !!!! The Professor: I... we must find him. I... I think he is important. The Professor: I think after we talk with him, he'll be overjoyed to help. The Professor: Konnan... Do you know where his lair is? The Professor: Take him. We have much to discuss. The Fight Begins! The Professor: <Character>, Konnan, you should go prepare. Wargoth... Wargoth will be coming for us soon. The Professor: Wait, Alex. Tell me about Warlic. Wrath of Wargoth The Professor: There is no more hiding. We must stop Wargoth if we are to save the world! The Professor: Give me time, <Character>... I think I may know what we need to do but... I need to remember everything. Breaking Crystal The Professor: Do you even know where she is? The Professor: If we're going to defeat Wargoth we need her. The Professor: Have you... have you tried to release her before? The Professor: Do you mean... the ice that surrounds her... heals itself? The Professor: That... that was brilliant. If you had succeeded... you would have trapped... trapped him forever. The Professor: If we... if we align the elements properly then, we should be able to shatter the crystal.... The Professor: I... I'm still not sure if we can. We need to try though. It will take all three of us, though. The Professor: Will you come with us? The Professor: If we can align the elements with the opposites... I can then send a shock through the crystal that should shatter it... I hope. The Professor: Avatars help us if, if it doesn't... Wrath of Wargoth (Quest) The Professor: If you destroy me, you destroy yourself. Disarray The Professor: ... The Professor: Such devastation... The Professor: Hmm... The Professor: I suspected that this might be happening.... The Professor: We need to get Warlic back. The Professor: He's not gone. The Professor: One of Warlic's greatest regrets was what he did to you. The Professor: He was... in a new place, a new body. Arrogant. Impetuous. The Professor: What is keeping you from killing us all right now? The Professor: ... The Professor: I'm half of Warlic. The Professor: Half of him. The human half. The Professor: You already know the answer to that, <Character>. The Professor: The best way to end Wargoth, is to find a way to merge us back together. The Professor: If either half is destroyed... I think the other will become... unstable. The Professor: No, and as he casts more spells, he pushes his limit even further. I... I can feel it. The Professor: Jaania, are you... are you well enough to help us? The Professor: We don't. The Professor: If we don't try though... Wargoth will destroy this planet. The Professor: We need your help... you and Xan knew Warlic best. The Professor: If we're going to realign and merge us back together, we'll need you. The Merge The Professor: ... The Professor: No. This is going to take more than duct tape. The Professor: We will have to fight this fight on two fronts. The Professor: You, Jaania and Xan will fight Wargoth face to face.... The Professor: *sigh* The Professor: If you don't face Wargoth, that's exactly what will happen. The Professor: You will be distracting Wargoth. My apprentice and I will be on the second front... assaulting Wargoth through the dreamscape. The Professor: He, hopefully, won't realize we're there until it's too late.... but our being there should weaken him. The Professor: With Jaania and Xan channeling the powers of ice and fire... he should be distracted enough to think the power drain is due to them. The Professor: Don't underestimate the power that Jaania wields... The Professor: Just the sight of her made him stop in your last encounter. He... he is trying to remember her. I don't think he wants to hurt her... The Professor: I think... I hope, that fighting on two fronts will weaken him enough for my mind to be able to merge with his... The Professor: ...without... without a catastrophe occurring. The Professor: Go, you three! We'll take the gryphon to my lab and enter the Dreamscape. The Professor: Wargoth! Prepare yourself! The Professor: This is it.. I hope <Character> is ready. The Professor: NOW! Other information The Professor previously appeared in the retired quest The Professor.
