When will ________ come out?/When is the next update coming?/Why haven't they updated yet? No one knows except the staff. The ONLY time that we would know is if there is an announcement by the staff. Timewise, updates are usually released at 6:00 PM Server Time on Fridays, which is actually Eastern Standard Time (EST). If you are not located in the EST timezone, then you can take a look at the DragonFable website, where a handy little time signature can be found in the top right corner of the homepage. Keep in mind that the game staff are only human and mistakes can (and will) happen, which will sometimes push back the release of the update. If this ever happens, do not panic, rest assured, knowing that the game staff is hard at work getting the new material ready. When updates come out please search for their official threads if you wish to talk about them - these threads can be found in the DragonFable General Discussion forum and have either an =AK= or a =DF= tag. If you want the latest news, please check the DragonFable Design Notes. 2. What's a DragonAmulet? - How do I get one?
- What are the benefits of having one?
A DragonAmulet lets you unlock special areas, quests, powerful items and access to an expanding number of exclusive areas in the game. These areas contain incredibly rare and powerful weapons. As the game progresses, the amulet will unveil more secret benefits including special story side quests, the ability to speak in the language of Dragons, and your ultimate destiny of becoming a Dragon Lord. - DragonAmulets are purchaseable through http://www.dragonfable.com/upgrade/df-upgrade1.asp and http://portal.battleon.com. You can get one DragonAmulet for 19.95 USD or a DragonAmulet for all six of your characters for only 29.95 USD. If you want to find out how much that is in your money, check here. You do not need six characters for this package to work, and they will all have a DragonAmulet when you create them, if you so choose to.
- The benefits are also listed on the DragonAmulet purchase link, but will be viewed in a greater scope as you play explore the game.
3. What are DragonCoins? - How do I get them?
- What can I buy with them?
- DragonCoin Sellback Policy
DragonCoins are a special form of currency that can be used to purchase a multitude of items and other extras. Since DragonCoins are rather hard to come across and are often purchased with real money, the items bought with them are often of a higher caliber than regular items. The merchant Cysero is rather fond of these coins. - You can buy them here and here for 9.95 USD per 2000 DCs. Also, for those upgrading to DA-Status there exists a great deal (If you want an extra 2000 DC's, you can pay 5 USD for them while purchasing your DragonAmulet). Another way to get DragonCoins is win them through contests that are held every-so-often in the forums, which hands out DragonCoins as one of the prize choices if it’s universal, or just DragonCoins if it’s a DragonFable Contest. You can also earn them through a run of Ballyhoo Ads or AExtras.
- Every item that requires DragonCoins can be found in the DragonCoin Items guide. If you want more Bag Space, you can purchase them for DragonCoins at Cysero’s SuperStore of Savings. You may also purchase Bank Slots at the Falconreach Bank.
- As of February 1st, 2008, when you purchase a Dragon Coin (DC) item from any in-game vendor (like Cysero's shop, for example), you will have 24 hours from the minute of purchase to return that item to ANY VENDOR in the game for 90% of the original Dragon Coin price. After 24 hours, the item will indefinitely sellback for 25% of its original price.
4. The Doom Weapons Why are they glowing red? How do I upgrade it? Will they become more powerful? What's better: Doom or Destiny? Doom Weapons are the current "uber" weapons of DragonFable. More information can be found about them in the DragonFable Encyclopedia or A Guide to Doom and Destiny Weapons. - Their special attack consists of the weapon glowing red after hitting an enemy while the Doom Weapon laughs "Hahahaha! Engulfed in darkness!". Also, the opponent will take 5 damage (Darkness Element) for the next 5 turns (Damage over Time).
- The Doom Weapons have been ‘buffed’ a few times on various Friday 13th wars and their price has gone up also. They can first be upgraded at Chaney's Hut in the Crystal Clear Lake in Amityvale. After this upgrade, it is possible to upgrade your Doom weapons a second time by giving five Unlucky Doom Essences to the Mysterious Stranger, you can obtain these items from the Haunted Castle. Upgrades after the second can be found in Yulgar's Forge Shop, requiring even more Unlucky Doom Essences for the quest for more power. Finally, the Doom Weapons (Alongside the Destiny Weapons) received additional upgrades that can be obtained in Braughlmurk Cape- the first ones in a very long time that do not require Unlucky Doom Essences.
- In terms of power, Doom and Destiny are just about in par of each other. However, some distinctions between the two sets of Weapons can be seen as you upgrade them more: their Elements and their Stats. The Destiny Weapons, when compared to similarly leveled Doom Weapons in terms of Stats alone, are superior and have a less commonly resisted Element. But the Doom Weapons can be upgraded further and ultimately become more powerful in the end. It is ultimately your choice which to get, but these are some useful tips that should help you decide.
5. What is this PvP I am hearing about? - How do I find my character ID?
- What about the ID of other players?
You can find PvP by using the travel feature (available in the top right hand screen of Falconreach) and choosing "Aeris Battlespire PvP." This is not multiplayer, you are not battling real people, and you cannot control your character when others fight him/her. The character that you are fighting has an AI (Artificial Intelligence) and has been programmed by the staff. Want more details on PvP? Try checking out the Every thing you need to know about PvP and PvP farming guide. - To find your Character ID Number, check out the Finding Your Character's ID Number guide.
- To find the ID of other characters, you should look no further than the PvP IDs list. Simply hit "Ctrl + F" / "Command + F" on your keyboard (or use the forum search tool) to find what you are looking for quickly.
6. What is the best Weapon or Item for my level? What items match my character’s Armor? - What is the best Armor in the game right now?
- How and where can I change the color of my Armor?
The Best Weapons For Your Level And Class and the Best Accessories for your Level And Class guides should give you a good amount of information. For help with your character appearance, please check in-game items AND the DragonFable Encyclopedia. Most of us only know a few that will match your style right away so please use the Encyclopedia. - The top Class Armours are DoomKnight Armor, Kathool Adept Class Armour, enTropy Class Armour and SoulWeaver Class Armour. This doesn't mean the others aren't useful at all, but keep in mind that the other Armours, INCLUDING Frost Moglin and DeathKnight have yet to be remade and furthered in power, so you must expect some changes in the future.
- If you have a DA, you may go to the Armor Paint Room in Warlic's Portal (not his area, but the actual portal in Falconreach). Simply select a base and trim, then pay 100 gold and walk out! This is a DA only privilege, and it has been said several times that making it non-DA is unlikely, but it will be considered. In the mean time be patient or buy a DA.
7. Guests: How do I get [insert guest name]? - Monsters seem a lot tougher when fighting with a guest, what is going on?
For those of you who are looking for guests, try checking the proper section of the Encyclopedia (Pets/Guests). We can not at the moment heal the guests nor replenish their potions without getting them again. You may be wondering why guests have health, but are not attacked. Guests can be attacked, though few places offer this feature. In Willowshire, guests can be attacked, though there are very few other places. When will this feature be used a bit more in the game you ask? We don't know, just content yourself with the fact that you're guests aren't dying before you get a chance to use them well. Eventually guests will be levelable. - To challenge those with the unfair advantage of a Guest, most Monsters will receive a fairly high increase in Health with each Guest fighting alongside the player. The only Guest that is an exception to this rule is the Toddler Dragon, which can be used at any time without triggering the buffing of Monsters.
8. New and Returning players: Where should I begin? What have I missed? We recommend that you read the Guide for starting/returning players and the Dragonfable: A Quest-By-Quest Chronology guide as both contain helpful and important information. For the correct order of quests in Atrea: quote:
We have noticed that some of you become a bit confused when you see that the new quests are locked... Know that this is not a bug! And has in fact a very simple solution that we will not give to you: When you get to Atrea and cross the bridge to your left you will find a cloaked friend called Zon'lzz go talk to him and he will give you the Rift War and Rising Fire War both these wars came on the last Friday 13th and are the key to unlock the next stage of the quest chain. All you have to do is do the quests in those wars in this exact order Rifts Opening... ---> The Puppet General ---> Rising Fire ---> Wargoth Approaches after you do those you will notice that the first quest Yolande gives you will now be unlocked and you will be able to do the quests :) So do not fear we do not have a big mean bug preventing you from doing the quests you are just missing a small part of the story that you need to have in order to do the quest chain. 9. What is "farming"? How do you farm? Where are the best places for my character to farm? Farming is doing a certain quest/event multiple times in order to gain experience, gold, or a certain item. A Comprehensive Guide to Farming contains everything you need to know about farming. Please note that farming questions are not allowed in DragonFable Q&A. 10. I'm a [Insert Class here]. Should I use [Insert Weapon type here]? This depends entirely upon your Base Class and preferred Offensive Stat. If you are a Mage, it would be best if you used Intellect as your Offensive Stat and Staves, Wands, and Scythes as your Weapons. Warriors should use Strength with Swords, Axes, Maces, and Scythes. Rogues should use Dexterity with Daggers and Scythes. 11. What do the stats do? How do I train them? Is there an untrainer? What stats should I train? You can see what every stat does by checking out the DragonFable Stats and Formulas guide. To train your stats, simply go to the Falconreach Town Hall (one screen down from the Falconreach starting screen and then the building to the right, you'll find it!) and speak with Sir Render. Click the "Stat Trainer" button and train away! The stat un-trainer is available in the same location, but there is a catch. You will untrain ALL of your stats for 1,000 gold. The same stat points will be available afterwards, but you will have to repurchase them in order to allot them in a new manner. Again, the aforementioned guide will give you many build ideas, try searching there before posting here. 12. DragonFable Formulas (How do I calculate my damage/What does Melee/Dodge/Critical do?/How much Exp do I need to level up? etc) The most recent formulae for calculating your Damage is found mostly in the Practical Applications section of the DragonFable Stats and Formulas guide. That is found by finding your Damage Bonus in the appendix and adding it to your Weapon Damage. Melee/Pierce/Magic Defence increases your chances to dodge the respective Damage Types. Parry/Block/Dodge further increase your chances to avoid incoming damage, but is an all-around effect and is less noticable. If you want to know how much Experience you need to reach the next level, you can read the Experience Per Level guide. 13. How do I find out about my stats/resistances? What about a monster's stats and resistances? Simply click your name at the bottom of the screen to see your stats/resistances. With monsters, you need only click the circled "?" mark to bring up their stats and resistances page. Should you need to know a monster's weaknesses and strengths, the A-Z Monsters by Weaknesses/Strengths guide is what you want. Just find the monster you're looking for, and click it to see its Encyclopedia entry. 14. Quest/Item help "Where is the X Quest located?" "What monsters are there?" "Can I do it?" (and other similar questions). The DragonFable Encyclopedia is there for a reason, and you can find all of the information on quests in the Locations / Quests / Events section, so there is no reason to ask a question about a quest or event if you have not yet checked the Encyclopedia. Similarly, you can find everything you need to know about other items in the DF Encyclopedia as well. 15. Base Class/Gender/Name Changes The shady B.M. Moglin can help you. It can change your Base Class, Gender, and/or Character Name for 1000 DragonCoins. 16. How do I set my starting Items and Class Armors? The Orb of Saving and the Armor Closet are two special in-game items, in which a DragonAmulet wielder is allowed to save their Class Armor as the set Class they see/use when they log in. To get the Orb of Saving or the Armor Closet, one must possess a house (Falconreach > Cysero’s Orb > Buy a House > Go to my House > House Shop > DC Stuff or Gold Stuff). The Orb of Saving costs 20,000 Gold, and requires 7,213 Gold to save a Class each time they want to save a different one. Rare Classes, such as PumpkinLord, may only be saved during the time the armor is released. The Armor Closet requires 1,000 DragonCoins, requires no Gold or DragonCoins to save a class per time of saving, and will have any and all Classes that you have unlocked. Please read the How to Save Your Armor and Equipment guide for more information. 17. I heard that you can log in as multiple characters on the same account, is this true? Where is the "save" button? Yes, this is true, but it is also worthless. You will not gain experience after quests if you do this, so do not bother. Also, there is no save button as DragonFable saves the game automatically after every quest and at other points in the game. 18. Book One is over? Where can I begin Book Two? Book Three? The Final 13th (Ultimate Orb) Saga was the conclusion of DragonFable: Book One. One can begin to take part in the events of Book Two by accessing the Book of Lore and selecting the second Book there, where you can access the introductory Rift War of Book Two. From there, you can travel to Swordhaven and unlock the Alexander Saga or travel Atrea and take part in the Quests located there. Currently, the main storyline in Book Three is centered in Sulen'Eska. You can travel there by walking south of Falconreach. If you use the Book of Lore, click Book Three -> Travel Map -> Sulen'Eska (which is due west of Oaklore Keep). 19. What is the Alexander Saga? How do I unlock it? What are the requirements? In order to take part in the Alexander Saga, one must possess a Dragon Amulet. If these qualifications are met, you may find the charred building in Swordhaven and locate a journal within it. This is revealed to be Alexander's journal, which unlocks the ability to select and begin Alexander's Saga on the Character Selection Page. 20. Ravenloss Saga and SoulWeaver Armour To unlock the possibility to train the SoulWeaver Armor armor you need to complete the Ravenloss quest chain then enter the Ravenloss war area and watch the Making Plans and Meeting Vaal 50% cutscene. Defeat Greed in the Judgement (Wheel) Day boss battle. Reenter Ravenloss and talk to Tomix -> Meet Aegis and collect 3 Shard of the Spirit-Loom to unlock the armor (They are found in any of Tomix´s random quests, the fastest is the quest " Children of Ravenloss"). Fourteen (14) additional Shards of the Spirit-Loom are needed to fully train the SoulWeaver armor. 21. When are ChaosWeaver and Spirit Warden being released? And I heard something about a new Chickencow Class? Very limited information is known on ChaosWeaver and Spirit Warden at this moment in time, but ChaosWeaver is allegedly to come upon the conclusion of the Ravenloss Saga alongside Master SoulWeaver. ChaosWeaver will be available for Dragon Coins while Master SoulWeaver is available to Dragon Amulet holders, and the former will be available to purchase from the Hero's Corrupted Elemental Spirit, Secundus. Confirmation on Spirit Warden has yet to be received, as there is no certainty that the DragonFable staff will have the time and resources required to make it. There is much more information on the upcoming Chickencow Class, which is confirmed to be a work-in-progress. Cronix has coined the name of the Armor- the Enchanted Chickencow Armor- and is currently in the process of drawing and animating the Class. A date for the Class' release has not yet been stated. Enchanted Chickencow Animations Preview (Original) Enchanted Chickencow Animations Preview (New/Arester) Poll on Old vs. New Artwork Arester, the Class Trainer 22. If I buy another X-Boost, will the effects stack? And will it work from my bank? No, no matter how many X-Boosts you own you will only receive 10% extra Exp/Gold. You will only receive the extra Exp and Gold if the X-Boost is in your inventory when you log in. You may place it in your bank after that, but you will have to take it out before logging out if you want it to work the next time you log in. 23. What is hex coding? Hex coding is a system that was recently implemented by Rolith. When accessing the Armor Paint Room, players can now use hex coding when customizing the colors of their Base Armor. The system relies on a series of numbers and letters that, when put together, convey a certain color. For more information on Hex Coding and how to use it, you may read Lady Azjurai's How to find item colors guide. Alternatively, you may use an online Hex Code Generator such as this one. 24. Primalization On your Titan Dragon, when you hit the Normal Attack button, a skill corresponding to the design you chose has a chance to activate, which gives you an edge in your Titan battle, ranging from making the enemy less accurate or giving you a second attack. If you're unhappy with your choice of skill, there will be a function in the future that will let you switch designs, for a fee, presumably in DragonCoins. To Primalize, you must first go and complete the Great Fire War Saga, which is found at BattleOn, when clicking Travel. Once the Great Fire War has been completed, go to Lady Celestia and choose an Element to Primalize your Dragon with. You need the Orb of a corresponding Element to Primalize, so only Light, Darkness, Ice, Wind, and Energy may be Primalized at the moment. Our Dragonfable characters never received the Earth, Water, and Fire Orbs from their respective Sagas. Naturally, this means that our Dragons cannot use their power to Primalize. However, geopetal stated that she would try to find a way to include the Nature, Water, and Fire Primal Skills at a later time. Detailed information can be found here. Now, there are recent perks for Primalization. They are the use of your Dragon Egg's design (FINALLY!!) and a brand-new skill, which goes in your Dragon's Trinket slot after completing the Primal Dragon Training. Depending on the Dragon Egg you have chosen, a special skill to your Titan Dragon's "Attack" button (chance of occurring is random) gets added. 25. How often does Ballyhoo give Dragon Coins? The drop rate for Dragon Coins from Ballyhoo is estimated to be near 3.5%. Since the chances of receiving them are slim, patience and dedication are necessary if one wishes to amass Dragon Coins through this method. Otherwise, one my use AExtras or purchase Artix Points for Dragon Coins through their Master Account. 26. Drop Rates and Rarity This is a must read for all of you, those with questions and those who answer them alike. You can find the drop rate of most items by simply using this equation: 1/Total Number of Quest drops (divide one by the total number of possible rewards in the quest). However, the drop rate of some items have a "fixed" rate that is not dependent on the above equation. Unless it has been stated by the Mods or the Staff, we don't know what the drop rate for it is. Guessing about it only spreads misinformation, so keep your conjectures to yourself. You will find further elaboration on this subject in On Rarity, Rares, Item Drops, and Sellback Values - A FAQ. The term "rare" can have many different meanings, but in DragonFable it only has one. It means "unobtainable", as in you can not get this item any more. Claiming that an item is a "rare-drop" makes no sense, try to use terminology such as "uncommon-drop" or "unlikely-drop". A rare item's sellback value has no reason to increase unless the staff let you know that it will, so do not assume that the price will skyrocket once it becomes rare. As for questions such as "Should I keep my rares?" that's completely up to you. Everyone has different ideas on that subject. You can keep them as memoribilia or if you find them useful, or you can sell or destroy the ones that you have no need for and save bag space. It's up to you. 27. DragonLord Armor: Where? How? What is a DoT? The DragonLord Armor is a powerful Armor that is only available to those with Dragon Amulets. If you have a Dragon Amulet, you can head to Sunbreeze Grove by using the Travel Map, and talk to Elysia to train the DragonLord Armor. As your level increases, you can train the Armor to get more and more powerful Skills. You have to be at least level 21 to obtain every Skill. If you try to use the final ability, Dragon Heart, you may get a message that says "DOT Required." DoT stands for Damage over Time, so you will have to use Light Dragon Spirit, Fire Dragon Spirit, or Ice Dragon Spirit to activate Dragon Heart. Also, if you have extra Gold just waiting to be spent, you can acquire from Elysia the Color Customizable DragonLord Armor and the Evolved DragonLord Armor and the Evolved Color Custom DragonLord Armor (For 20,000 Gold each, buying one version unlocks the ability to buy the next one). 28. Guardianship, Guardian Armor, and Guardian Blade To become a Guardian in DragonFable, one must first be a Guardian in AQ. Follow these simple steps to obtain Guardianship in DF: Become a Guardian in AdventureQuest Verify your Guardianship in DF with the account you want to have Guardian privileges. If you verified the wrong DF account and want Guardianship on a different account, please contact the HelpZard (You need to include your PayPal transaction ID for AQ Upgrade, AQ User Name, AQ Email Address, DF User Name and DF Email Address). Please note that the mail form will say "Account Hacked" in the subject. However, this is the only link we can find that will definitely get your information to the people it needs to go to. Please just say what your email is about when you send it so that they know the exact issue. To obtain your Guardian Armor, simply enter the Falconreach Guardian Tower, go one screen to the left (when in the tower), and speak with the orange-haired (slightly bald) Guardian. He will outfit you. The Guardian Class has been released, and you can now train your skills by speaking with the Guardian who gave you your armor. To get rid of the armor, you can either log out or speak with the Guardian who gave you the armor in the first place and ask him to unequip it. By verifying your guardianship, your entire account (all of your characters) now has access to guardian privileges. There has also been some confusion as to how to obtain the Guardian Blade, in order to obtain one of these weapons, you will need to complete the Race to the KeyGems quest in the Willowshire Guardian Tower, once you have all four Keygems, you will gain access to the Vault, inside of which you can buy your Guardian Blade (Lord Alexander Valorus' ghost will only sell the blades to verified AQ guardians). Note that there are four versions of the Blade, level 5, 10, 20 and 29, which cost 1000, 5000, 7000 and 9000 gold, respectively. A new bit added for the Guardian Verification is the option to participate in one of Ash's storyline, titled ArchKnight. The original ArchKnight did not take off too well, so this function helped to get in some of the fun ideas they were going to enter. To access this new storyline, go to Ash DragonBlade in Falconreach then click on ArchKnight option and finish the dialogue. Switch characters, and you will be able to play as Ash in A New Beginning. Please note that even if you are able to play as Ash if you have a Guardian Verification, he still will not be able to touch the DragonAmulet items he comes across. 29. DoomKnight Package Upgrade Link for DoomKnight Packages: http://www.dragonfable.com/upgrade/df-upgrade1.asp That's right, DragonLords now have access to the powers of the DoomKnight Class Armour, just about the same that empowers the sole villain of DragonFable! This goes by months instead of days, and is the third package of the DoomKnight Set offer. Package 4: 10,000 DragonCoins + DoomKnight Armour!! ~ $19.95 or $65.00* The EPIC prestigious Armour of the DoomKnight Sepulchure! Or at least a copy, anyways. The DoomKnight Armour Package will be available for those who have achieved the DragonLord status for more than TWENTY-FOUR MONTHS. This goes by months, and is the fourth and last package of the DoomKnight Set offer. This Armour can be saved through the Orb of Savings, currently at the moment. Each piece can be paid either individually at $19.95 apiece or $65.00 for the whole Set at once. Universal Package Requirements: You must purchase the preceding pieces to go after the pieces that follow. In other words, you cannot go for the Armour first, and then the Sword, etc. If you have ONE Dragon Amulet Character, he will be the only one to receive the items and DragonCoins. Complete DoomKnight Set 30. Where can I post suggestions about the game? Only DF Game Staff or Forum Staff are allowed to make suggestion threads for DragonFable. So, whenever they wish, DF Game Staff (and occasionally Forum Staff) will make official suggestion threads or suggestion contest threads where you can post detailed ideas for a specific item/quest/monster/NPC to add to the game. These threads will appear in DragonFable General Discussion forum. 31. Upgrade cards: Where? How? Are they available in my country? Upgrade cards are the newest way of purchasing Dragon Amulets and Dragon Coins, available to US residents only. The cards are available in all Target stores; you will need to go and purchase one yourself. The next step is then to visit the upgrade page, where you can choose which game for which you would like to redeem your card. Choose "Redeem Card", and the rest should be simple from there onwards. Upgrade cards can be used whenever you wish, as they do not expire. As of now, the upgrade cards are effectively in a "trial phase". This means that they will only be available to those in the US - if the staff find them to be successful, they may eventually branch out into other countries, however we do not know when this is going to happen, so it is pointless to ask about it. See the upgrade card redemption page for more information. 32. Where is the Traveler's log? What is the Book of Lore? The traveler's log which was used to be found in the bottom bar where also the inventory can be found has been removed. It has been replaced by the Book of Lore. The Book of Lore is a more organised and updated version of the traveler's og. It is also the direct link between the 3 chapters. It contains your badges, a link to a guide for the new and returning players and a lot more. It will serve all your needs for your adventure in Dragonfable. 33. Where do I report DF bugs? If you find any bugs within DragonFable you can report them at the DragonFable Bug Tracker. With just a few clicks, you can send a detailed report to the DF Bugs team! 34. Where can I find all the barbers in Dragonfable? There are barbers in various locations throughout the world of dragonfable. Here is a list of the current barbers that are available: Gerek's Barber Shop Mince's Barber Shop Patch's Barber Shop ScaredCrow's Barber Shop(seasonal) Snowy Forest Barber Shop(seasonal) Sweeny's Exclusive DragonLord Salon and Spa Xaver's Barber Shop Yonathan's Barber Shop 35. Can I delete a DA character? Non-DA’s can delete any of their 3 characters (So be careful with that button!) For DA holders, it’s a bit different, if you have 1 DA character you won’t be able to delete that character. If you bought the 6DA package, you won’t be able to delete the character in the first slot.
