I've been studying the Chaosweavers for a while now. Riadne: Before you go accusing me of being where I shouldn't, you could ASK me what I know. Riadne: That would show you I know how to take care of myself! Riadne: A <Class> like <Character> traveling with you... <Character> I've heard of. Everyone has. Riadne: If he/she is with you...you're doing something important. I can tell. Riadne: I have skills, I could help! Riadne: Riadne. My name is Riadne, Arachnomancer Adept. And you are? Riadne (thinking): Mmm hmm. I can't say I blame them! Riadne: Of course. Since you're a Soulweaver, I'm sure you know some of this. But I'll tell you what I've learned. "ChaosWeavers are a faction of SoulWeavers, but they split off from them a long, long time ago. They are skilled in mystical arts and are VERY power-hungry. Just listening to them talk, it makes me shudder to hear what they do to people who cross them. They are evil. All good drained out of them with the strange mind-sickness which changed them into the half-human, half-spiders they are now. They follow their own desires. They weave with wicked Elemental Spirits, not like SoulWeavers. The strange Weaving incident which changed them, I don't know much about. I need to study them more." Riadne: It was my pleasure, Tomix. Anything I learn, I will be happy to share with you. Silkwood Park Riadne: Tomix? Riadne: Tomix! I-- Riadne: Worried about you! Riadne: I followed the Chaosweavers here. It seems I just missed overhearing a big meeting. Riadne: I'll be careful, if you will, Tomix. Riadne: ... And <Character> too, of course. Mystlyk Museum Riadne: Tomix! It is GOOD to see you again! Riadne: You must have some fun stories about Tomix as a young man! Riadne: And I am continuing to watch Chaosweavers. I saw Izaac here skulking about the building and followed him in. Riadne: As for the Chaosweavers, I hope to have more information for you the next time we meet. Riadne: And it's good you're here, so I can tell you that I've seen more those... those things. Riadne: Or parts of them, at least. But they can't be, can th- Riadne: Is this...? Riadne: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Tomix! Help! <Your Character>, please! In Dark Tower Penitentiary Riadne: Never! Stronger Than You Know Riadne (thinking): Tomix and <Character> don't know where I am. I'll have to try to get MYSELF out. Riadne (thinking): Let them think they've broken me. Then, when they let their guards down, I'll break free! Riadne: (thinks) TOMIX! Riadne: AAAAAAH! Altar Hill Riadne: *whisper* Shhhh! It will hear you! Riadne: *whisper* I think so. From what I understand, he is communing with their Queen, a gigantic Chaosweaver female. Riadne: *whisper* I knew you would! But I couldn't just sit there and do NOTHING! I knew if you weren't here, I would have to come and find you. Riadne: *whisper* Well... not UNhurt. But I don't want to talk about it. I'm here, and that's what's important. Riadne: *whisper* It's time we took these chaotic cretins down, and I want to be a part of it! Riadne: *whisper* Let me fight with you! Arachnomancy is NOT a passive art, believe me. Riadne: HEY! HEY BUG-BUTT! Riadne: Tomix? <Character>? ... Riadne: Did you forget WHAT he was praying to? Riadne: Oh, oh my. It's- Riadne: <Character>? Riadne: <Character>, you were WONDERFUL! Riadne: Oh! Oh oh oh. Tooooomix! Do you know what I saw while I was hiding? Riadne: Take a look on the shelf under the altar! *(big grin)* Riadne: You should probably wait until I've had a bath, Tomix. *(wink)* At the Gate Riadne: *cough* They must be... scattering after... the death of... *cough* their Queen. Riadne: They are *gasp* ...trying to get into the Gate! *cough* Mustn't... let them... Tomix! Riadne: *cough* Their poison... it is slow-acting. I can feel... the effects beginning to take hold. Riadne: But... don't *cough* ...worry! I am an Arachnomancer... we have inherant powers *cough* ...to resist poison. Riadne: I just need... to rest. And my body... will fight... it off... by *cough* itself! Riadne: *cough* Riadne: Greed... *cough* ... The End? Riadne: You must be careful, Tomix! Riadne: You WILL be careful... won't you? Riadne: That is VERY good to hear! Riadne: I will go with <Character>, perhaps. I must continue my studies in Arachnomancy. Riadne: And <Character> will need to fully understand the ChaosWeavers more than ever now. Riadne: It will be good to spend time in Falconreach! Void Ship Riadne: <Character>! It is so good to see you! How are you holding up? Do you need medical attention? Quests! - Quest
Riadne: Could you gather some spider venom for me <Character>? I'd really appreciate it! Just don't harm the spiders... too much! Riadne: You know, I'll be willing to give you my old scythe if you gather enough venom! Sounds like a plan? - Quest - begins Venom quest.

Riadne: Oh, after the thing with Greed I decided to go traveling. I'm fascinated with all kinds of spiders, I find them fascinating! Riadne: Did you know that some spiders hunt, constantly moving, instead of living a sedentary life and trapping their prey in a web? Riadne: But I digress. I've been traveling, expanding my knowlege, practicing arachnomancy and occasionally even trying to be a heroine! Riadne: I returned to Ravenloss about a year ago, to see how much had changed. Riadne: The city was in a better state, with Tomix's and Izaac's help, but I wanted to help too. And so I've been helping in the orphanage ever since. - Medical Arachnomancy?
Riadne: That's right! I discovered that the manasilk I conjure can be applied as a bandage or a gauze, accelerating the wound healing proccess! Riadne: Also, with a trial and error method, I've perfected spider manipulation, and can now fill them with a strong potion extract... Riadne: ... shrink a whole colony of these spiders to a size of a grain of salt, or even smaller, and apply them inside human body... Riadne: ... and magically detonate them, all at once, to release the potion into the bloodstream. I have once saved a life thanks to this method! - Arachnomancy Origins
Riadne: As far as I know, arachnomancy was around for a very long time. Riadne: From various books that my grandma gave me, I've learned that our ancestors originaly used arachnomancy to foretell the future. Riadne: After some time, arachnomancers created a bond with the spiders so strong, that they could communicate with them. Riadne: Not only that, the spiders were actually teaching us magic that we later called arachnomancy! Magic like this manasilk you see here. Riadne: We got the knowlege to conjure it from spiders. However, overtime this gift of communication faded... Riadne: ... but arachnomancers nowdays can still manipulate spider in some ways. Riadne: Yes. I can't teach you actuall arachnomancy, but I can try and teach you about arachnalchemy! - Tomix
Riadne: I fully support Tomix, don't get me wrong, but I'm really worried how will this journey impact him. Riadne: I've seen him looking into the void the other day, crying. This whole ordeal with Envy is taking a toll on his mental health. Riadne: He won't admit it, but he's depressed. We need to do our best to make him feel better. - Izaac
Riadne: Izaac isn't doing very well. He's in poor condition after he's been attacked by a void creature some time ago. Riadne: The wound is infected with some kind of void virus I've never seen before. I've managed to slow down the infection as best as I could... Riadne: ... but it is still spreading. So far only his vision has changed, but I have to stop this virus! It's... very important to me. Invite Riadne as a guest (Locked) Into the Ynnungaap Riadne: So.. only the ship is safe from harm. What about us? Riadne: I beg your pardon?! Riadne: Good thing the ship is a "sturdy lady"... Riadne: We may have bigger issues now... look! Adrift Riadne: Ugh... bad. Very bad. We have almost thirty people injured and I can't keep up with everything! People are panicking! Riadne: Oh Avatars... Void War Intro Riadne: What? Riadne: There has to be another way to unlock it! Riadne: *weeps uncontrollably* Just Chillin' Riadne: Well, hello there! Riadne: You are a little late. Riadne: The food is mostly cold now... Riadne: Yyyyes... It's... Riadne: That's... one way to put it. Riadne: Come on in, have a seat. Riadne: Fine... Riadne: Thank you. Riadne: He is... not well at the moment. Riadne: NO! Riadne: No... Riadne: Don't... go into his room. Riadne: It's f-fine. Riadne: *sigh* He's getting worse. There is no known cure for Void Madness. Riadne: I've tried my best, but... I can't do anything for him. Riadne: He has good days... just... Riadne: Not today... Riadne: I know! Why don't I introduce you to someone! Riadne: <Character>... meet Tomix! Riadne: It's fine. Riadne: He must have had a very eventful day. Riadne: I'm sorry... Riadne: When he came here earlier, he said he wanted to dine with us all... Riadne: Sorry if we let him down... I know he wanted it to be a "family" dinner, but Izaac... Riadne: Thank you. Myshka Riadne: <Character>! Hello! Welcome to my little orphanage! Riadne: I assume you got my letter? Riadne: Well, thank you for... arriving! To be frank, I actually didn't think you'd show up. I know you have places to be and Lore to save! Riadne: You're busy busy busy! Riadne: Not just meet you, <Character>! She'd absolutely love to go on an adventure with you! Riadne: You have to excuse me, but when I was spending time with her recently, I kind of... hyped you up, so to speak! Riadne: We have these little moments when I go on adventures with her when the time allows, but... I'm no grand hero, like you are. I just make do. Riadne: And she absolutely cannot wait to meet you! A proper hero! Riadne: Thank you! Let's get you prepared! Riadne: Hard to say. Riadne: She was brought here in this state, and even when I arachno project myself into her psyche for our adventures, or just to play... Riadne: ...she doesn't really know or doesn't understand what I mean, when I ask her. Riadne: Maybe she was always like this, but... her muscles are not atrophied, so as I said, it's very hard to say. Riadne: None. Riadne: She's all alone. In her body, and in her mind... Riadne: Oh, it's just... draining. The ritual, I mean. Riadne: When I arachno project myself, it's already very taxing on my mind and body, but when I do it for others, it's... Riadne: I'm fine, <Character>, really! I'll just need rest! Riadne: It would appear so. Riadne: Believe me, <Character>, I've tried. I've researched, I've reached out, I consulted other mages, healers, medical practitioners, even people of science... Riadne: Avatars forgive me, I even turned to necromancers... Riadne: The best I can do for her right now is to just talk to her, go on these "mindventures", and make sure she's comfortable. Riadne: You know, I have these tiny little spiderlings that crawl into her mouth to deliver sustenanc— Riadne: Haha, I'm just kidding! Riadne: Or am I? Riadne: Thank you, <Character>. Truly! Riadne: You've given Myshka fun memories she can relieve and re-experience. Riadne: For someone locked inside their mind, new memories and stimuli are everything. Riadne: Certainly! Have a good day, <Character>! Riadne: What? Riadne: ...Thank you. Riadne: Now get out of here! Go save the world again! Riadne: Hello, <Character>. It's good to see you again. What can I do for you? Arachnalchemy (DA Required) Riadne: Are you interested in learning about Arachnalchemy, <Character>? - About
Riadne: Arachnalchemy is the process of imbuing potions with the essence of magical spiders! Riadne: There are multiple different techniques within Arachnalchemy... Riadne: ... from putting magical spiders inside potions to using parts of spiders themselves. Riadne: For you, however, I think I'll teach you how to draw essence from enchanted silk! Riadne: These essences can be added to Health Potions to give them additional effects. Riadne: If you'd like to learn, just let me know, and we can get started. - How to Train
Riadne: I don't like harming spiders, but spiders don't think the same way. Riadne: An invasive species of Giant Gulosedaxes is taking over the territory of the much smaller native species. Riadne: The Giant Gulosedaxes are devouring the smaller dears, which is driving them away from their habitats. Riadne: Luckily for us, the smaller spiders they're eating are quite magical, and the Giant Gulosedaxes take on the magical essence of their prey. Riadne: Normally, harvesting enough enchanted silk from the smaller spiders would take many, many spiders, and many more hours. Riadne: But if we can subdue the Giant Gulosedaxes, I can extract their silk, and use that instead. Riadne: Now, remember, we're subduing them, not killing them! Riadne: I have a special home for the Giants where they'll be happy. But if that's not enough, killing them will also ruin their silk. Riadne: I'll come along with you to help with my Arachnomancy. Wear them out enough, and I'll send them off to spider dreamland. Riadne: As a bonus, bathing in the ambient magic of the Giant Gulosedaxes will let your body grow more accustomed to Arachnomantic energies. Riadne: As you help me capture them, you'll grow more acclimated to Arachnomantic power... Riadne: ... letting your body handle Arachnalchemical potions imbued with more essence! - Personal Lab - opens Arachnalchemy Lab (Shop).
- Train!
- Dire Wolf Spider
Riadne: Known for their strength, the Dire Wolf Spider throws around foes many times larger than its size. Riadne: They're often found in dark alleys in cities, trying their might against rats and other vermin. Riadne: Unfortunately for them, the Giant Gulosedax is way outside their weight class. Riadne: If you can help me save the poor dears, I can take the Giant Gulosedax's enchanted silk to give your potions a boost to your Strength! - Desert Diver
Riadne: Desert Divers are medium-sized spiders that live mostly in ponds and oases. Riadne: Known to hunt small fish and insects from the water's surface, their potent venom saps at their prey's vitality. Riadne: Usually their bites would be enough to fight off most predators, but the Giant Gulosedax's adaptive abilities make it immune to the venom. Riadne: This time, the enchanted silk will let your Health Potions boost Dexterity! - Elemental Orb Weaver
Riadne: The Elemental Orb Weaver is an intelligent little spider that weaves tiny marbles of silk and imbues them with traces of different elements! Riadne: Each element of orb has its own use for the Weaver. Riadne: The Giant Gulosedax is too big to be affected by the silk orbs, unfortunately for them. Riadne: If the Giant Gulosedax has been feasting on Elemental Orb Weavers, its silk will be enchanted with properties that increase Intelligence. Riadne: Save the Weavers, and that silk will be ours! - Extra-Fluffy Spider
Riadne: The Extra-Fluffy Spider is covered with an adorable coat of fluffy hairs! Riadne: Their cute appearance makes them quite popular to keep as pets. Riadne: The hairs themselves can be quite the irritant when they come in contact with the eyes and mouths of other animals, though. Riadne: The Giant Gulosedax doesn't seem to care about how cute these dears are, and eats them anyway... Riadne: The silk should be enchanted with magic that increases Charisma for you, if you're up for the hunt! - Greater Green Cloverachnid
Riadne: Have you ever heard of the Greater Green Cloverachnid? Riadne: They're an extremely rare species said to bring good luck... which is why we have to save them from the Giant Gulosedax! Riadne: The last thing we need is a Giant Gulosedax that's also incredibly lucky. Riadne: If you can subdue this specimen, the enchanted silk will imbue your Health Potions with extra Luck! - Tog-Eater Spider
Riadne: Now, before you panic, Tog-Eater Spiders don't actually eat togs. It just looks that way when they hunt the scavengers of rotting meat. Riadne: They're slow and methodical hunters, pouncing with the utmost accuracy. Riadne: And now they're being hunted in turn by the Giant Gulosedax. Riadne: This time, the enchanted silk will let your Health Potions increase your Bonus to hit. - False Amulet
Riadne: The False Amulet has been the downfall of many a would-be DragonLord, or at least, their fingers! Riadne: While not venomous, they have a nasty bite that drives their fangs deep into prey or wandering fingers. Riadne: If a Giant Gulosedax's been devouring them, you'll have to watch out for more than just your fingertips. Riadne: This specimen's enchanted silk will increase your Critical Hit chance when added to Health Potions. - Mutagen S
Riadne: These next few hunts are a little bit different. Riadne: As I told you before, I've been keeping the Giant Gulosedaxes safe. That said, I've also been trying out some Arachnomancy on some of the subjects. Riadne: And... Now a few have escaped. Oops. Riadne: The particular one I'm sending you after this time has been enchanted with protection from Non-Critical damage. Riadne: I expect that protection will extend to its silk, of course. - Mutagen D
Riadne: Good work, <Character>! I've located the next escapee, if you have time to help. Riadne: I managed to enchant this spider with protection from Damage Over Time effects. Riadne: Needless to say, a specimen like this would cause a lot of trouble if left out in the wild. Riadne: If we can retrieve this spider, I'm sure its silk would pass its traits on to your Health Potions as well! - Mutagen I
Riadne: I've found where the last Giant Gulosedax has been hiding. Riadne: This specimen managed to develop protection from Critical injuries, so be careful how you approach it. Riadne: Its enchanted silk will be sure to have the same property for your potions too! Riadne: Let's recapture this friend, and maybe strengthen the security on their enclosure... - Flat Shadow
Riadne: Back for more, <Character>? I've discovered more spiders in need of our help! Riadne: The Flat Shadow is a jumping spider known to spar with competitors of the same species, darting in and out of shadows. Riadne: They're quite hard to pin down, which is why it's surprising that a Giant Gulosedax has made them its prey. Riadne: Still, this presents an opportunity for you! If you can take it down, its silk will make your Health Potions give you some extra Avoidance! - Oaklore Knight
Riadne: <Character>! Thank goodness you're here! A group of Oaklore Knights is under attack! Riadne: Aha, you may have guessed, but that's another species of spider, not actual knights! Riadne: Oaklore Knights often live near old forts, building themselves armor from the rusted debris. Riadne: The Giant Gulosedax attacking them is sure to have been imbued with the increased Defense the little warriors have. Riadne: You can get that Defense from your Health Potions too, if you help me save the Knights! - Titan Goliath
Riadne: The Titan Goliath is a large species, as you may have guessed from the name. Riadne: Despite their size they're actually quite gentle, but they're durable, too. Riadne: They aren't easy to daze or stun, and just keep moving along, doing their thing. Riadne: ...Easy prey for the Giant Gulosedax. Riadne: This hunt shouldn't be too difficult, but don't count on being able to stun the specimen! - Berry Biter
Riadne: Berry Biters are tiny little spiders that are often the bane of many a hungry moglin. Riadne: Living off the pests that commonly infest Moglinberry and Cocoaberry bushes... Riadne: ... Berry Biters blend in with the berries, and bite when disturbed! Riadne: Thankfully, moglin healing magic is enough to counteract their potent and varied venoms. Riadne: A Giant Gulosedax that's feasted on Berry Biters will likely have a powerful damage over time effect or two of its own. Riadne: A Health Potion brewed with its silk will also let you deal damage over time! Riadne: ...I wonder how many Berry Biters make it into a keg of Moglinberry Juice...? - Patchwork Tograntula
Riadne: The Patchwork Tograntula is a clumsy little tarantula that uses its silk to bind wounds, even using sticks and scrap to replace missing limbs! Riadne: The regenerative effect of its silk is sure to have passed on to the Giant Gulosedax that's been hunting them. Riadne: If we can get that enchanted silk for ourselves, it will make your Health Potions heal even more over time! - Mutagen U
Riadne: Well, <Character>, you've done a wonderful job helping me out. I'm out of Giant Gulosedaxes to hunt! Riadne: Well, almost out. One in particular seems to have escaped the lovely paradise I've been keeping them in. Riadne: ...And it's a very powerful one. It seems to have absorbed the essence from the other Giant Gulosedaxes. Riadne: Can they pass their absorbed essence from one to another? It's a fascinating path of research... Riadne: The enchanted silk from this one... Imbued with all of the different essences... Riadne: If my research is correct, it will increase the duration of your Health Potions' Arachnalchemy effects! Riadne: Are you ready for your final spider hunt? - Imbue Potions! - opens Arachnalchemy interface.
How is Izaac? Riadne: Well... good, I think! I'm still trying to work on a cure, I'm really close now, I think! Riadne: With the dose I have him on, he stopped thrashing about and yelling "they are awake!" anymore, so that's good! Riadne: He's still in no shape to help me around the house, but with proper dosage of the potions... Riadne: ... I was able to remove his bindings, and he doesn't hurt himself anymore! So that's a plus! Riadne: I still have to keep him confined to his room, though. For his, and my protection. He is really getting better, though! Riadne: I'm really close to a breakthrough! The pulp that I'm currently aging for an elixir should... hopefully... ease the void sickness! Riadne: I'm... Riadne: I know I can help him! Riadne: He will recover... How is Tomix? Riadne: Oh my Avatars, you'd have to pay me to shut up about her, haha! Riadne: She's soooo fussy with her meals! She hates meat, can you believe that? Riadne: I know she needs proteins and veggies, so I have to get creative! Riadne: She insists on "eggy's" every breakfast! Riadne: I bought so many boxes of Hero-O's cereal, and it'll all go to waste, because she also hates cereal... because why wouldn't she... Riadne: All in all, she's all fine and dandy! Riadne: She... Riadne: She hasn't seen her dad yet. Riadne: I want Izaac to be fully lucid and in charge of his mind and body, when he finally meets her. Riadne: Which... might take a while. Riadne: Anyway! Riadne: She's very, how to say this, mellow! Riadne: She keeps to herself, and doesn't play with the other kids in the orphanage. Riadne: She's very much in her own world: playing with figurines, making up scenarios... Riadne: I think it's fine. I won't force her to socialize, if she doesn't want to. Riadne: This shy tyke is very brooding... exactly like her namesake, haha! Quests Riadne: I could use your help with something, yes!
