Dialogue
To Lore's Self-Proclaimed "Hero",

An evil artifact has resurfaced in the Deadlands, a scrap of cloth from the cloak of a betrayer, and cultists are on the move to recover it.
It must not fall into their hands. The Stranger cannot return to Lore, in any form, before I am ready to crush him myself.

  • To the Deadlands

You have reached the Deadlands. Fight the undead in your path.

*The character defeats the last skeleton*

<Character>: Ugh, I really should stop trusting random notes sending me on quests to the middle of nowhere....

*The character hears something, and turns around*

    <Character>: !!!

    *The Cultists enter the scene*

Zealot: We must find the artifact. If you fools do not find it soon, none of you will live to see the resurrection!

*They don't notice the character, who is hiding behind a big boulder. But a few seconds later, one of them finds the skull of the undead skeleton they have just defeated*

Zealot: Ghrrr! They're here! Find the artifact. Now. Whoever brings me the head of <Character> will get a special reward!
<Character> (thinks): Ooook. So, I need to find that artifact first and take out as many of those guys as I can.

Defeat the cultists in your way and find the artifact.

*The character notices a scrap of cloth tucked between the ribs of a wrecked monsterous skeleton*

    <Character>: I suppose I'll just... take it...

*Suddenly, the scrap glows purple and the skeleton comes back to life*

<Character>: Oooooooor I can fight that and THEN take it. Fine by me.

Fight the Cursed Skeleton. There's also an Extreme Battle option for those who want a more challenging fight. Once you defeat it:

*The character picks up the piece of cloth using a stick, so they don't have to touch it*

If you are a non-DA player:

    <Character>: There! Now, wha-
    Cultist: I'VE FOUND HIM!!!
    <Character>: Gryphon!

*The gryphon swoops in. The character jumps on on its back and the two fly away. When the Zealot and a few other Cultists arrive, the character and the gryphon are already gone*

If you are a DA player:

    <Character>: There! Now, wha-
    Cultist: I'VE FOUND HIM!!!
    <Character>: <Dragon>!

*The character's dragon, in their adult form, flies into the scene. The character jumps on his/her back and the two fly away. When the Zealot and a few other Cultists arrive, the character and the dragon are already gone*

Zealot: YOU INCOMPETENT FOOLS! Master will not forgive us! I will punish you so hard, that y-

*The Zealot bursts with magical energy, his hood disappears and the face of Baron Valtrith appears on the side of his head*

Baron Valtrith: You. You sniveling idiot. You call me into this world without using an artifact from the greatest evil this world has known?
Baron Valtrith: Without a piece of the creature that pulled the strings of both Sepulchure and <Character>?
Baron Valtrith: That brought this world to its knees as it ate the Sun?
Baron Valtrith: I remain unfinished and until my resurrection...
Baron Valtrith: ... until my completion... your pain will only grow a thousand fold!

*The screen darkens, and we hear a scream of pain. Meanwhile, the character is sitting by a small bonfire in a forest*

<Character>: Is this thing really so evil that cultists are after it... that someone who hates me sends me to keep it out their hands.... It's a piece of cloth.

  • Destroy it!
<Character>: I can drop in the fire and it's gone.
<Character>: Or I can... wear it for a day or two and then destroy it.
<Character>: No. I should keep it. Forever.

*The character can resist the temptation no more, and touches the piece of cloth. An enormous amount of dark energy bursts out from the artifact and engulfs the character and a large portion of the forest*

    • Complete Quest

  • Hold on to it!

*The character can resist the temptation no more, and touches the piece of cloth. An enormous amount of dark energy bursts out from the artifact and engulfs the character and a large portion of the forest*

    • Complete Quest
