Shading and lineart and originality are my weakest points... They really are pretty bad quality.

And I'm probably going to do some more around these parts of the forum again.

I used to really struggle with shading and still do. I have just tried to do my best to learn as much as I can, while at the same time kinda create my own shading style.

Another thing I struggle with is just digital painting from scratch. I have been working lots on that though so that I can improve. You guys may see a digitally painted viking soon. ;)

I personally have never let something get me down. If I am not good at something, I learn to be good at it. That's how I started drawing. I have been practicing since I was 2 and just continue to learn things all the time. Practice may or may not make things perfect, but it certainly helps.

Well looks like the last topic is dead, so I'll start a new one.

Who here plans take their digital art skill to a professional level and actually study it and make a living off of it, if they haven't already?

I do. But not just digital art. Any form of media I can get my hands on, really. I've been looking at colleges (Pratt Institute :D ) and researching and stuff. Just gotta apply next year. :D

Though I don't plan on focusing on it, I do plan on getting my minor in Graphic Design.
Math is my life, but art is what keeps me going through every day, no matter how hard things are.

I might get a minor in graphics design like iChar, but Computer&Psychology and Math&Philosophy will be my majors if I can get into the school. (Yale has those two as only two majors :D)

I completely agree with Zero Hex. I plan to one day head to Pratt. I also agree that I would study more then solely Digital Art.

Right now, top on my list is Drexel U. for Digital Media(Animation/WebDesign/Gaming/Etc). :P

I would of said "I do" a few years ago, when I was actually decent haha.
Now, I couldn't see myself going to school for anything Graphics related. I still open up photoshop every now and then, but its not my thing anymore.
I would much rather get a degree in something music-related now.

Hm, yeah...I would really like to do art as a job. I have been really interested in going to the Art Institute college. They have great art and music courses and for me right now it is a toss-up between the two. Cant decide...Music or Art...Gahh! D:

Quite possibly, i have always dreamed of becoming a cartoonist/comic artist. :D If i could do that, that would be awesome, but it is kinda early to decide..

I want to be a Sports Physician or a Forensic Scientist when I grow up. I might do what some of you other guys are doing and minor in graphic art. Maybe make a little extra money.

DF artist most likely. Seems to be the least complex artist job and seems to be easy enough (adapting to a style of shading is pretty easy)

Before I became an AK, the GoCA (back before The Gallery came into exsistance) was my home. And this place will always be where I am most active.
No matter how many other places I AK (like the OOC and UCaG before I took my vacation), I will always come here when I have nothing else to do, because I know more people here than I do anywhere else.

It's just my home on this forum, and I'm okay with that ^^

If the GoCA was never here then I woudn't have been on the BattleOn Forums for very long.

This place is pretty much the only one (here) that really means something to me.

Before descovering the Gallery I was mainly active in the MechQuest zone... If (by any chance) the gallery goes BOOOM! and it disspears I would probably move my lazy but to the AQW section...

I started in clans maybe 3 years ago
then came here for a clan sig shop around the beginning of the daas
been stuck in here ever since
not going anywhere else

Yea I started in clans too. Had a real big clan that rapidly dissappeared after they changed the clans to be primarily in Private Forums. Then I came over here to learn how to do tags. If it werent for here, I probably wouldnt be around.

This place as an analogy is like a parent's home for me. You grew up there, and from time to time will poke back in. When stuff gets rough, you move back in for awhile. :P
