By: Mystical Warrior

~This guide is a remake of Guide to Element X by Pink_Star, Aerowarrior and Sora Aeragorn~

Background

Void is essentially damage that comes from rewriting reality or manipulating the stuff of creation/the Void (reducing things to the primal Void and rebuilding them from that infinite sea of possibility into what you desire or just reducing things to that primal void and letting reality reassert itself (which will put things back together just in a certain amount of agony) or dropping raw Void energy onto your opponent and watching as reality melts), its all elements and none at all, everything and nothing, the absence and potential of all things, the moments between time, etc, raw mana is of this element.

Harm is essentially damage without elemental alignment perhaps its a left over from the earliest times of creation when not everything was infused with elemental power, perhaps its from an alien world that obeys different rules, perhaps its meddling with truly advanced magic/science/magiscience. ~Chii

Introduction

The introduction of the Harm and Void elements serves to distinguish clearly between damage that is meant to be non-elemental and damage that comes from the Void. Currently, players and most monsters have Harm and Void percent modifiers set to 100%. There is no equipment that changes their modifiers as of now. However, the Void damage multiplier will eventually be changed to 200%.

FAQ

What happened to Element X?
Element X has essentially been replaced with Harm, as it was a term that referred to any damage that did not align with any of the basic 8 elements. To quote Zephyros: "Element X is a myth."

Do Harm and Void have their own symbols?
Yes. The Harm element is marked with a purple cross and the Void element is marked with a big ?.

Are Harm and/or Void attacks blockable?
Yes, they are. However, there are different amounts of BtH that can be assigned to the damage.

Is there only one attack type for Harm and/or Void?
No. Like all other elements, Harm and Void can be in the form of a melee, ranged, or magic attack. An additional note would be poison damage, as it is of the Harm element and has no attack type.

How do I know if an equipment can deal Harm or Void damage?
The AQ Encyclopedia is a very good source for this type of info. In a particular entry, it almost always states the trigger that allows your equipment to deal Harm or Void damage. The most common trigger is probably "Dragon". You can also find a list of equipment that deals Harm and/or Void damage in this guide below.

Can element seeking weapons deal Harm or Void damage?
It depends. If the weapon element is "Element Seeking," then no, as that means it can only seek one of the 8 basic elements, not Harm or Void. However, weapons with "Greater Element Seeking" or "Lesser Element Seeking" can actually deal Harm and/or Void damage depending on the circumstances.

My weapon is dealing its normal damage against a Dragon/Dragonkind. Why?
Some old trigger weapons used to trigger based on name, though most trigger weapons have a type-based trigger. If there is a problem, it's either because you have one of the aforementioned name-trigger weapons, or because it's a bug. If it is a bug, you can report it here. Also, a lot of old weapons have problems with their triggers, and need to be recoded.

What happens when I use an armor attack that has a specific element with a weapon that triggers to Harm/Void?
If your armor has an attack of a specific element (e.g. Golden DragonSlayer and many class abilities), the armor's element should be used instead of the weapon's, even if the weapon is triggered to do another element UNLESS the weapon is triggered to do Void damage.

I'm fighting in the Dragon's Revenge challenge in the Guardian Arena. I'm fighting dragons, but my Dragon Blade is healing them!
In the Dragon's Revenge challenge, the Dragon Blade transforms into the Dwagon Blade, a replica that deals -20 to 0 Earth damage with +20 BtH. I guess this is what the staff meant by revenge.

Will my Rare Dragon Blade, Mega DragonBlade, Dragon Bow, Dragon Partisan, or Dragon Scepter turn into the Dwagon Blade in the Dragons Revenge challenge in the Guardian Arena?
No, they won't. Only the temporary Dragon Blade makes that transformation.

Is Death element the same as Void?
Essentially no...these two are different from each other. Void's symbol is represented by a Black "?" while Death's symbol is represented by a white "?".

Are there any monsters that Harm or Void doesn't deal 100% damage to?
Yes, there are:*Note: For the monsters in which there is only a Void resistance listed above, the Harm resistance should be the same.

What directly deals Harm and/or Void damage?
The next sections list everything that can directly deal Harm and/or Void damage:

۞: Can deal Void damage
۞: Can deal both Harm and Void damage

The'Galin has 0% void but 100% to harm damage. You'll need to say it somehow. If you don't believe me, I'll prove it.

Mystical Warrior -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (3/29/2010 7:41:40)

No need to prove since I already know what you will use...most likely it'll be Yaguu Dageki of Assassin

and as a little note:
quote:

*Note: For the monsters in which there is only a Void resistance listed above, the Harm resistance should be the same.

"Should" doesn't necessarily mean its absolutely correct which means there is still a chance for it to be different

"Should" doesn't necessarily mean its absolutely correct which means there is still a chance for it to be different

Oh right. I thought it means it will or something.

I've got a question. Doesn't a spell mixed with Loco's blessing have a chance to do harm damage?

Mystical Warrior -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (3/29/2010 18:31:01)

True...but what I included here are ones that directly deal them easily or items that can directly deal them without relying on luck...so I will skip skip on Loco's Blessing and it variants because it chooses randomly

kipperkin -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (3/30/2010 12:05:20)

Well, I see you've added it already. That's it. Great guide by the way.

sebihp2007 -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (4/6/2010 8:17:44)

Absolix has 0% to Void too, not only Harm. Guardian Dragon hits 0 on him [8|]

I believe it should be mentioned somewhere in this guide about the "Death" element (Power World Die and Assassin's Creed). They don't deal Void, they deal Death

Also, for Monsters that deal harm: Shii-Legendary Assassin (Yajuku Reshii or whatever the skill name was)

Mystical Warrior -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (4/6/2010 9:29:34)

@sebiph2007 thanks for the condirmation...if you have the time can you test Yajuu Dagekii on him to see if his resistance to Harm is 0%

sebihp2007 -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (4/6/2010 15:26:43)

Confirmed: his resistance to harm is 0%

Same for Void

Arath -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (4/23/2010 3:07:00)

Add omni elemental
does anyone know what exactly it is?

edit:
though it adds the modifiers of all the element
could it still be a new element?
the power-word-die awe weapons special attack is omni-elemental

Z -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (4/23/2010 3:16:16)

It isn't an actual element; it's called omni-elemental because the single hit's damage is calculated with the monster resistances of all eight elements.

More info: Prismatic Burn.

Response to second question: no, Powerword Die deals Death damage. The element symbol for Prismatic Burn just happens to borrow Death element's symbol.

Female Void Dragon Wyrm: -200% Harm and Void

Nightbane (Levels 25, 60, 140, 145): 20% Void

Nightbane (Level 500 Void Version): 1% Harm and Void

Sea Fiend: 40% Harm and Void

The Elder Void Wyrm, Dragon: -200% Harm and Void

The'Galin: 0% Void Only

Void Dragon: -200% Harm and Void

Werepyre: 3% Void

WolfWing: 3% Void

Xerxes: 70% Void

Also add Zlok it says "although he is immune to your attack, Zlok still seems displeased!" (though it does to damage, but it is lower than usual damage i think)

kipperkin -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/14/2010 11:50:44)

quote:

۞ Shii - Legendary Assassin (Yajuu Dagekii and Zetsubou Dagekii)

Shii's attack is actually called Lesser Yajuu Dagekii.

137ben -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/14/2010 17:47:14)

No, she has those attacks, and has a "lesser" version of each. It would be prudent to say
Shii - Legendary Assassin (Yajuu Dagekii and Zetsubou Dagekii, and the lesser versions of each).

Mystical Warrior -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/18/2010 19:39:27)

@axefatheadboy The info is nice but I will appreciate it more it you can give a much more accurate result because I don't have the time to test it.

spiderlord -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (8/28/2010 22:14:16)

You forgot the evolved dragonblade, if used on a void dragon it will do void damage (which will heal the void dragon due to void elemental resistance not being visible)

Edme MacHeath -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/23/2011 12:42:54)

the galin has 0 harm damage?

1337 -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/24/2011 15:08:43)

Carnax doesn't have 0% void.
I don't know how much he has, though.
RUB will hit the cap(3500) if it's higher than~.9%.
And the galin has 100 harm AFAIK/T.

afterlifex -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/24/2011 15:29:25)

^ well the pedia says carnax does has 0%, which is the best we can go off of.

edit: and 100% harm on The Galin would be "odd" given his other resistance.

1337 -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (6/24/2011 16:15:11)

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do 3500 damage at 0%[:)].

1stClassGenesis -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (8/22/2011 3:52:46)

The Nemesis Series deal Void damage.

Gold -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (8/22/2011 4:00:52)

^It has already been changed.

Sir Niaq -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (9/1/2011 13:10:18)

Void Golems are immune to Harm. Guardian Dragon hits 0 on them. I'll try to get a proof asap.

1337 -> RE: Guide to the Harm and Void Elements (9/21/2011 0:24:22)

Might consider adding stribog and neurus bladesif you haven't already.
