Dialogue

*Dracelix and Navon look at Elryn with uncertainty.*

Navon: Trap? But what trap? And where?
Elryn: Code Orange. That is the trap!
Dracelix: Code Orange?
Elryn: The alarm you just heard ringing through the jail! Code Orange is a distress call to Rose Headquarters in Swordhaven!
<Character>: ... And what happens when a Code Orange rings?
Elryn: Only the worst...
Elryn: The full might of the Rose's army, as much as can be mustered on sudden notice, is immediately mobilized to the Runed Fortress!
<Character> & Navon: The... The FULL MIGHT?!
Navon: But why?!
Elryn: To capture the Rebels that are attacking the Fortress, of course.
Navon: But who could....
Elryn: Someone in the Rose that surmised that the Rebels would target Espina Rosa...
Elryn: ... and thus it is a perfect occasion to turn the Fortress into a Rebel trap.
<Character>: .... Akanthus?
Elryn: Aye. Neither he nor the Rose must know that the Hero of Falconreach was involved a plot against Espina Rosa!
Elryn: You must leave immediately!
Navon: Why? What's so bad about the Rose finding out about this?
Elryn: There is no time for all those explanations!
Elryn: I may have given us a bit of time by interrupting the alarm almost immediately...
Elryn: ... however I doubt it will delay them long if Espina Rosa continues to remain unresponsive to any communication.
Elryn: We must go!
<Character>: So it's settled? You're coming with us?
Elryn: *deep sigh* It is not really a matter of choice, <Character>... You will need my help making it out of the Third Floor.
Elryn: After all, Dracelix and Navon's company would have not made it here had I not communicated them the way...
Dracelix: So that voice...
Elryn: ... was me. Yes.
<Character>: Hey, wait a second! If we run now, that won't prevent the Rose knowing that I was here!
Elryn: What do you mean?
<Character>: The Patrol. They just saw through my disguise a minute ago and they'd still know that if we left.
Elryn: ....Fair point.

*Elryn glances at the stunned patrol.*

Elryn: Hmm....
Elryn: Ah, I know!

*Elryn casts a hidden spell that somehow erases a portion of their memories.*

Elryn: There... Now the Wind of your little "accident" is gone. They shall not remember it.
<Character>: And the other two weeks too?
Elryn: Two weeks?
<Character>: Technically, they've known me for more than two weeks now. That's how long I've been impersonating Edd.
Elryn: .....
Elryn: I can only disperse Wind when it has not echoed yet... Two weeks... is far beyond the time that Wind has echoed.
Elryn: I can do nothing about that, <Character>.
<Character>: Darn it.
Elryn: Where is the real Edd?
<Character>: I wish he was here...
<Dragon>: *dragonbark*
<Character>: Something up, <Dragon>?
<Dragon> (thinking): I took care of it! I took care of it!!
Dracelix: Excuse me... but would this Edd have the same face as the mask lying on the floor over there?
<Character>: Yeah. That's him.
Dracelix: Oh! In that case, he's over on the beaches of Espina Rosa taking a nap.
<Character>: WHAT?! How?
Dracelix: Just before we were about to set sail to reach the island by boat, <Dragon> brought to us a big brown bag...
Dracelix: ... with nothing in it other than a sleeping, snoring Rose Soldier.
Dracelix: We had no clue why your dragon had taken the trouble of carrying this man all this way...
Dracelix: ... but <Dragon> seemed adamant that we bring him along to the island and so we did.
<Character>: You're awesome, <Dragon>!
<Dragon> (thinking): I take my payments in REALLY special dragonchow!!

If character has a DA:
<Character> (thinking): .... Helloooooo farming.

If character does not have a DA:
<Character>: Where am I going to get all that special dragon chow?!

<Character>: And come to think of it... I wouldn't want my disguise lying around here either. Better grab that too.
Elryn: ... This will do.
Elryn: Granted, it is not perfect.... but it will confuse the Rose just enough to keep them off your trail.
<Character>: So... time to hit the road?
Elryn: Aye...
Elryn: Let us go! And quickly now!

*The scene fades to black and you begin making your way back out of the Third Floor.*

*Everyone in the group glances at a faint light at the end of a tunnel up ahead.*

Dracelix: I can see the light of the Second Floor ahead!
Navon: Almost there!

*The group moves closer to the light and before you know, you have reached the blue lit entrance with a smile on your face.*

<Character>: We've made it!
Elryn: Almost. We still need to escape the fortress.
<Character>: That'll be a piece of cake. Let's-
Navon: Wait! What's that... glowing thing up a head?
<Character>: Glowing thing? What glowi-

*Suddenly you see Sam, who began crying when he spotted you. Elryn appears to have stunned him too. Your mood suddenly fell.*

Navon: <Character>? Is everything-
<Character>: .......

*A huge noise struck and everyone became alarmed.*

<Character>: What was that!?
Elryn: ... The entrance of Espina Rosa! The Rose is here!
Elryn: You must go! Now!
<Character>: ...But ...But what about Sam?!
Navon: ...Sam?
<Character>: .......
<Character>: The... Rose Soldier?
Elryn: There is no need to worry about him, <Character>! He has been taken care of just as the other members of the Rose here have.
<Character>: But-
Elryn: <Character>...
Elryn: You and your allies go. I will stay here and delay the Rose a bit longer to make sure you escape safely.
<Character>: .... There's no way I'm going to allow that!
Elryn: It is fine. I had already planned to go my own way once we had come to this point. To go our own separate ways.
<Character>: But...
Elryn: It is doubtful your path of escape was designed with another half dozen rebels and I in mind.
Elryn: It will be much better this way. I will use the power of the Wards one last time before leaving this place to ensure it.
<Character>: There's still a bunch of things I'd like to know...
Elryn: You and I both... And speaking of which, I do have one thing for you before you go.
<Character>: Oh?
Elryn: Since the moment the purpose of your mission here has been clear to me...
Elryn: I have been wondering what exactly motivated Kara to send you on such a dangerous mission for the sole purpose of escaping with me...
Elryn: I am certainly not the solution to all the problems that plague you with the Rose...
Elryn: But I do know something about Akanthus, and I think that it likely is or was that which was sought. Something that could help you.
<Character>: What do you know?
Elryn: That Akanthus lies to everyone.
Elryn: That Akanthus namely, <Character>, lies to Jaania... The leader of the Rose.
Elryn: Whatever he plots and schemes about.... Jaania has been kept out of it and may have very well had the wool pulled over her eyes.
<Character>: I haven't really heard or seen anything of Jaania lately.
Elryn: Have you explored and delved into Swordhaven since you came back?
<Character>: ...Not really.
Elryn: Then go there... and get to the bottom of this. That is my wisdom to you.

*A white glow illuminates Elryn. He readies himself to cast another powerful spell.*

Elryn: Go!
<Character>: All right... but only if we do this again some time. Preferably when we don't have chain happy Rose crazies on our tails that is.
Elryn: *chuckles* Now that is something I can agree to.

*You take a glimpse at Sam one last time, remembering the handshake you shared. With no time to say goodbye or even cherish the friendship you and Sam shared, you immediately leave with heavy heart.*
