I have some questions about the custom weapon skin prize based on your Design Notes post:
1. You said "No drop gear, ie. Blade of Awe, is ok to choose." Does that mean we can have a reskinned copy of Blade of Awe in our inventory as a normal weapon, or that we can permanently replace our no-drop Blade of Awe with a reskinned art? If so, could we replace our no-drop slot with any permissible reskinned weapon?
Yes, this would replace the Blade of Awe in your no-drop weapon slot. You can choose any no-drop weapons, BoA was only an example.
2. You said, "The winner does not need to currently own the weapon." For clarification, does this mean winners can select perma-rare weapons to reskin? If so, could we just ask for the perma-rare itself?
Depends on the weapon but generally, yes. Something like a package weapon that is no longer available, you can choose it and we'll give it a new skin.
3. Can winners ask a copy of their custom weapon for every character on their account(s)?
It depends on the weapon. If it is a no-drop weapon, that would be limited to one character as there is so much that has to be done manually. I do not see an issue with most other weapons and adding X number of copies in the winner's vault.
4. Can winners donate their custom weapons to the general public? I.e., if I reskin pyromancer bloodblade, can I ask for the reskinned weapon to be put in a shop for anyone to buy?
I'll have to think about it. Scaling is typically reserved for prizes and it is very difficult to price.
5. Will winners be able to name their custom weapon and/or write its weapon description, subject to staff approval and compliance with the Terms of Service?
Sure, you can name your weapon. Maybe the descriptions too. That area is limited and some weapons have critical info in their descriptions.
I also have a question about the community prizes: could we have a community goal to unlock a color custom version of the Mermazon Champion armor? E.g., 20 million?
I do have some stretch goals in mind, but yes, if 20 million is gifted this season, we will craft the finest of color-customization for the Mermazon Champion Armor.
Thank you for your consideration. I think this is a great idea because it keeps the interest and competition for the top tier whales, while letting a lot more players get the items.
