ArchMagus Orodalf -> Storyline Questions (Spoiler Alert, obviously) (5/3/2012 18:37:52)

At the previous Bizarre Flecks release, a rather large quantity of people were lost in terms of understanding the story, and a number of the forumites decided to (with Scakk's permission) create a thread in the GD forum for the purpose of resolving storyline questions. I'm going to start this thread up again, because it seems that the same has happened again with the latest release (The Hall of Memories - The Father's Door).

So: If you have any questions regarding the Bizarre Flecks Saga(s)/Dhows Arc/Hall of Memories Saga(s), or any other storyline, ask away.

(People who answer, please stick to facts alone-- no extrapolating. :P)

Useful links:

The AQ/Warpforce Archiving Thread - A wealth of quotes addressing storyline issues not answered in-game
AdventureQuest Storyline Order Guide - If you wish to experience the storyline yourself, please use this Guide to help you through the twists and tangles.

A quick list of characters:
  • Erimus is Wolfwing.
  • Cara is Wolfwing's wife.
  • Balius is Nightbane, Wolfwing's son.
  • Katerina is Wolfwing's daughter.
  • Constantin Petyrovich is the Were-King.
  • Esyl is Constantin's wife.
  • Crispus, currently in the service of Donovan/NightReign, is Constantin and Esyl's son.
  • Drageth Slugwrath is the bad guy. :P
  • And Safiria is Safiria.
  • Seth Cay is Dhows is Epsilon is the Mysterious Stranger is Erebus. NOTE: Dhows is only the Mysterious Stranger in AQ, not in any other AE game. Furthermore, there is not/has never been another Mysterious Stranger for AQ.

  • 0Neo -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 18:45:37)

    i just want to know the same thing i wrote in the storyline thread, this new door in HoM should be used after we...?

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 18:46:24)

    I answered your question in the thread. It should be played after 15: Absolix Falling and 8: Mostly Harmful Aftermath.

    0Neo -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 18:52:30)

    thanks Orodalf, i'll say again what i said in the storyline thread, you sure helped with that guide

    Macho Man -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 19:42:09)

    I just want to say thanks Archmagus Orodalf for this thread, as alot (myself included) are confused. One question that has been bugging me is with Falerin. What exactly has happened to him? I know that he has been "killed" but I'm a bit confused on his fragmentation.

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:04:12)

    Falerin's death and rebirth and re-piecing together has been a long journey. Here are the highlights:

  • In The Arden Door, the Mysterious Stranger kills Falerin. Falerin cannot resist this death-- he says "Several worlds have too much at stake."
  • During his death, the Stranger whispers in his ear, polluting his thoughts. ( A Rose by any Other Name)
  • We resurrect him during Division By Zero, but the Stranger's attack fragmented Falerin-- his colocation collapsed and he is in pieces. The part of him that was whispered to has control of his body and is called Ardendor.
  • During Mostly Harmful, we travel throughout all Lores and Caelestia to help Falerin gather his pieces. By the conclusion, we have found enough pieces such that Falerin can corporealize-- manifest a body,m whereas previously he was a strange green ghost of his previous self.
  • During the Mostly Harmful Aftermath, Falerin and the Player Character make plans to abjure Dhows, sending him away from Lore, and to deal with Ardendor should the need arise.

  • dethhollow -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:09:55)

    Minor question: Why can't Balious afford a shirt and are the door-water things dissapearing every now and then a plot point I don't understand or a glitch?

    Major question: Was that seriously the elemental lords of light AND darkness? I thought it would be impossible for opposing elemental lords to meet without destroying eachother or something....

    Also, have they expleined the darkness energy orb thing yet, or is it suppost to be a mystery for now? If the Drakovian Werewolf-Vampire war is a misunderstanding of some sort, and Erimus's memory exists there, then why isn't Drakovia united?

    Besides that, I think I followed along. Unless I'm misunderstanding most of it.

    Mad props to Falerin for a Phionix Wright reference! The world needs more OBJECTION.

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:20:28)

    Lol. Yes, I also wondered why Balius has only ever been shirtless. :P

    Also, no spoiler tags in this thread.

    quote:

    Nowhere is that stated. Perhaps you are remembering the fact that it is impossible for the Elemental Lords to manifest on Lore without unraveling the fabric of reality.

    quote:

    have they expleined the darkness energy orb thing yet

    If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, that is the Commander Paladin wreathed in Shadows provided by the Lords of Light and Darkness.

    quote:

    If the Drakovian Werewolf-Vampire war is a misunderstanding of some sort, and Erebus's memory exists there, then why isn't Drakovia united?

    The war is a product of Dhows's meddling. His actions as Father Dhows, the High Communicant of the Lord of Light, served to pit the force of the humans against the Vampires and the Werewolves against them both. (I assume you mean Erimus, not Erebus, because the former is the Werepyres' leader while the latter is Dhows's soon-to-be name.) The memory exists in the Hall, but the Hall was, until recently, only accessible to a very small few.

    Lord Barrius -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:40:36)

    Much like Jacob, he's contractually obligated to show his chest on a regular basis whenever he has screentime.

    He's just more zealous in keeping to his contract than most.

    dethhollow -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:43:04)

    Somehow thought Erimus was the Vampire King, and his death was why Saphira's in charge of the vampires even thou she's the queen.... And that's what started the bad blood (pun intended) between the werewolves and vampires.

    Oh, and actually now that you mention it.... If Dhows's memory is in the Hall of Memories then did we lead the modern MS there? Because if so, then is pursuit of this knolage worth risking all of Lore over? Seems kind-of dangerous to give the most dangerous character a road to all the information in the universe and potentially every villan to ever exist....

    EDIT @LB it could be worse, HOLY CRAP!!! .... It got worse....

    battlemaster25 -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:44:48)

    What's up with Commander Paladin's eyes? Did he change into Commander I'm-Going-To-Devour-Your-Soul when I wasn't looking?

    0Neo -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:47:15)

    ah orodalf, i forgot to ask....where those the real lords of light and darkness? or avatars of them or what
    edit: LOL, LB's comment

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 20:50:28)

    Lord Barrius: ... to quote your title, *squee*. Ish.

    dethhollow: You'll notice that Safiria had no recognition of Erimus beyond the fact that he is the Were-King's human friend.

    No, the modern Stranger cannot access the Hall. He is merely aware of our viewing the past concerned with him and responds in the past as he would at any other time because he is in all times at once.

    battlemaster25: You'll notice that it's more than just his eyes. He's Undead.

    0Neo: No idea and no way to be sure; nor does it really matter. They're either the Lords themselves or far more direct manifestations than we're used to.

    dethhollow -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 21:09:30)

    Wait, then what DID happen to the Vampire King? And I'd hate to take up the entire fourm, but if the people inside the HoM have free will and can choose to do different things, then how exactly are we learning anything?

    Mordred -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 21:12:57)

    Only beings who can operate outside time AND see those using the HoM can actually react. Dhows/Erebus is one such "being".

    Rhowena -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 21:21:16)

    To answer your other question, there's been no indication that there ever was a vampire king.

    Veral77 -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 21:37:40)

    Couple things: First of all, @battlemaster25: Heh, heh, undeath can do that to a person. Secondly, I admit that I haven't been keeping up with the Hall of Memories quest line, but is Katerina a new NPC? Wolfwing's daughter?

    Rhowena -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 21:44:17)

    This is the first we've heard of her, and yes.

    Desmodus -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 22:19:28)

    How did Paladin get the way he is now? I think whatever quest his turning's in I couldn't make it through due to strong monsters.

    Tha Killa -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 22:21:01)

    So the guy that died/is dieing is actually Balius' father aka Wolfwings father?

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 22:26:59)

    @Desmodus: Turning?

    Commander Paladin has returned to Lore as an Avatar of the Lord of Light. Before the Divison by Zero war, his coming was anticipated by Dhows. Dhows sought to prevent the coming of Commander Paladin by using Falerin's Godly powers, but failed because the player character had time to research and find out what it was that Dhows intended to do and to stop him. The player character was later told that the Commander Paladin would eventually make his way to Lore, and he has done so now, just in a form different than he was previously, for he has come to be the "ultimate leader of the Lady's [the Lord of Light] Undead."

    @Above: No, the one who almost dies (he doesn't die-- he is infected by the Werewolf "Taint" and then given the Vampire infection as well, becoming a Werepyre) is Erimus (Wolfwing), who is the father of Balius (Nightbane).

    Tha Killa -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 22:31:44)

    All right, thanks for clarifying. And I guess that's how Wolfwing become a Werepyre?

    Desmodus -> RE: Storyline Questions (5/3/2012 22:46:36)

    @Orodalf: Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant "turning" to be taken as "becoming". How did he become undead?

    Mordred -> RE: Storyline Questions (Spoiler Alert, obviously) (5/3/2012 22:50:01)

    He was made undead to continue serving the Lord of Light, by said Lord.

    ArchMagus Orodalf -> RE: Storyline Questions (10/7/2013 11:44:21)

    Um. He died about 900 years ago. We're never told the exact circumstances of his death. We also don't know how he's Undead, either, only that he is an Avatar of the Light Lord meant to lead Her army of Undead. It's likely that he was raised by the Lady or one of Her agents, but we can't be absolutely certain...
