*You sit on the cliff near Oaklore Keep with your dragon as something—presumably nostalgia—draws you back here.*
<Character>: I... don't know what it is exactly, but something always draws me back to this cliff.
<Character>: It's hard to explain. It's like... this is my cliff, you know?
<Character>: It all started here.
<Character>: It keeps starting here, for some reason.
*You pause before reminiscing your first meeting with your dragon.*
<Character>: Did you know I first met you here?
<Dragon>: You did? | *Curious growl.*
<Character>: Well, you were still an egg... but still!
<Character>: And I thawed here, too...
<Character>: Tell you what, if it wasn't already my cliff, I'll make it my cliff!
<Character>: But how...?
<Dragon>: Make it your lair! Start with a chair, or a hoard of treasure! | *Possessive, yet insightful grumble.*
<Character>: That's a perfect idea, <Dragon>. I'll bring something here!
*A brief pause before your dragon reminds you that it's nigh time to return to Sulen'Eska and report to Kara on events that transpired during your visit on Swordhaven.*
<Dragon>: Weren't we supposed to go back to the swamp place? We can always come back later. | *Encouraging chirp!*
<Character>: I know, I know. It's past time I got back to Kara and the Vind.
<Character>: But with everything that's happening... with everything that's changed...
<Character>: ...I will be back, cliff!
<Character>: With a chair!
*You and your dragon leave the cliff and return to Sulen'Eska's meeting room where Kara welcomes them back after a long absence.*
Kara SuLema: <Character>! Welcome back!
Kara SuLema: It has been far too long. We got word from a scout, Falwynn, that you've been quite busy in Swordhaven!
Kara SuLema: Have you learned anything? Were you able to speak to Jaania?
<Dragon>: So many questions! <Character>'s been really stressed, you know! | *Protective hiss!*
<Character>: It's okay, <Dragon>. Thanks.
<Character>: I got a chance to meet Jaania but... It didn't go as planned.
Kara SuLema: I... I see.
Kara SuLema: How are you... feeling? You know I'm always here to listen if you need it.
<Character>: Thanks Kara, I appreciate it. I'm... fine.
<Character>: And how are you? Has The Rose been causing any trouble since I left?
Kara SuLema: There have still been a few border skirmishes, but Akanthus, and the main force, seems to be focused elsewhere...
*Feeling uneasy, you presumably think that Akanthus is planning another attack on Sulen'Eska.*
<Character>: Do you think he's biding his time for another attack?
Kara SuLema: ...Perhaps. But there's no use speculating until we get more information.
Kara SuLema: Speaking of which... How did your meeting with Jaania go?
<Character>: She... She didn't want to listen. She had... this mirror. Showed me awful, terrible things.
<Character>: And when I confronted her, she just said she had been too busy pondering the inevitability of magic to notice what was going on.
<Character>: She didn't approve of Akanthus' actions... but I don't know if she's taking it seriously enough.
<Character>: Whatever she's doing, with her... revulsion toward magic... She thinks she's in the right. And I don't think I can convince her to stop.
Kara SuLema: ...
Kara SuLema: I suppose... I always had my suspicions. Your news truly saddens me. Yet I...
*Kara pauses before revealing that she used to know Jaania.*
Kara SuLema: I... I used to know Jaania, before. Has anyone told you that?
Kara SuLema: I see...
Kara SuLema: <Character>, she's...
Kara SuLema: Misguided.
<Character>: That's certainly one... naive... way to put it.
Kara SuLema: What she's doing is wrong, yes, and we must protect those we can from her plans.
Kara SuLema: That's what the Vind is for. What we're here for. We must not stoop to the levels of Akanthus and those that serve him.
Kara SuLema: We cannot repeat the mistakes of the past. There must be always be a measure of compassion.
<Character>: I agree, but we can't just let Jaania do whatever she wants. We can't stand by and let her bring about the end of magic!
Kara SuLema: *sigh* I know, <Character>. And we won't.
Kara SuLema: Ah, but that aside, what's this I hear about you attending a royal gala soon? I didn't realize heroes had so much free time!
<Character>: Right... because I have "free time"...
<Character>: I've been invited to a royal "gala". By King Alteon himself.
Kara SuLema: Indeed! Falwynn muttered something about that before hurriedly packing her things and leaving. I hope she's doing well...
Kara SuLema: But this is a wonderful opportunity!
<Character>: I know.
Kara SuLema: When is it happening?
<Character>: In a few days... I think.
Kara SuLema: Then we have absolutely no time to waste!
Kara SuLema: Svera!
Svera: Yes, Kara?
Kara SuLema: Please, take <Character>'s measurements!
Svera: At once.
*Svera sits on the ground with her knees, takes out a grey ruler, and begins to measure you; you question the importance of Kara's order as your dragon sleeps on the table.*
<Character>: Is this... necessary?
Kara SuLema: Of course!
Kara SuLema: You simply cannot appear in what you are wearing right now— Especially at a Royal Gala!
<Character>: O... kay...? What's wrong with my <Class> outfit?
Kara SuLema: Everything... The Gala will be a delicately scripted event, where diplomacy and court etiquette are paramount.
Kara SuLema: But an audience with the king himself... Oh <Character>, this is something I would never be allowed to do... not with the Rose present.
Kara SuLema: I need to prepare an extended list of questions you absolutely must ask him!
<Character>: You're taking this very seriously.
Kara SuLema: You will have the King's ear at your disposition, <Character>. He has the power to do something about the Rose.
Kara SuLema: And even if it doesn't work out, you will at least plant the seeds of doubt in his mind.
Kara SuLema: Which may grow into a tree of distrust.
<Character>: That sounds... a little extreme.
Kara SuLema: It's just an idiom, <Character>. Distrust for the Rose. The king will make a powerful ally, who can help us without the use of violence.
Kara SuLema: And if that fails, then as a last resort...
Svera: I'm done.
Svera: You are... broader than I expected.
Kara SuLema: Let's get to work then!
<Character>: Wait just a minute!
<Character>: What if something goes wrong? At the gala, I mean?
Kara SuLema: Why would something go wrong?
<Character>: Everything always does, Kara. It always does.
<Character>: It's a tradition, at this point.
<Character>: I can't fight in fancy dress!
Kara SuLema: I can do magic, <Character>, but... I can't make magical clothes.
Kara SuLema: And I don't know anyone who is able to conceal your <Class> gear under an evening gown.
Kara SuLema: I suppose we could try some illusions... but The Rose may not take too kindly to that...
*You take a moment to contemplate someone you have met before that is capable of designing clothes capable of concealing your gear; despite your eagerness to meet that someone, he might not be happy due to past events.*
<Character>: I... might know someone who can help.
<Character>: But he's across the sea, in Edelia. I don't know if we have time to get there and back before the gala.
<Character>: ...And I don't think he'll be happy to see me...
Kara SuLema joins you as Guest A.
Kara SuLema: Across the sea? We can travel swiftly by wind, if you'd like. Come now, we have no time to waste!
*You and Kara fight various monsters as they travel from the path from Sulen'Eska through the secret cave near the river, where they find an exit that leads to the sea.*
One rapid wind-tossed journey later...
*You and Kara—riding on a gust of wind—travel across the sea from the Land of Dragons to Azaveyr, where they land on a shore near Edelia at Tkaanie.*
<Character>: Phew... first time literally riding on a gust of wind.
Kara SuLema: It's... been a while for me, too. I... knew of this land, but... these winds...
Kara SuLema: They are so full of magic, and yet... so hostile.
Kara SuLema: There is a burden in them so heavy... they can't bear it.
Kara SuLema: It's... it's so sad.
<Character>: Will you be alright, Kara?
Kara SuLema: I will be fine, <Character>... Let's be on our way before we attract any attention.
*While you and Kara enter Edelia, Danyel is in class giving a lecture to the students present.*
Danyel: —and I sincerely hope you all are ready for your finals this week!
Danyel: I'd like to remind you that not only will Baltael and I be judging you, but also Oyva and her soulsmith!
Danyel: I wanted to try something new, the stakes are high this year, so... don't disappoint me, students!
Danyel: Bah, who am I kidding? You all will do just fine!
Danyel: I am so proud of your accomp—
???: Headmaster Danao?
*A senior Edelia teacher enters the classroom, reminding that someone arrived at his office.*
Danyel: Yes? I'm just finishing here.
Teacher: Ah, pardon me. There is someone waiting for you in your office.
Danyel: Very well, thank you.
Danyel: Good luck, students! Who knows, I might call some of you "Master Soulweavers" soon!
*Danyel leaves the classroom to go to his office, oblivious that the visitor is you.*
Danyel: Please excuse me for making you wait, I was jus—
*Danyel stops mid-sentence as his visitor turns out to be you, awkwardly smiling at him.*
<Character>: Hello Danyel...
Kara SuLema: Pleased to meet you, Headmaster.
<Character>: This was a bad idea, Kara. I'm sorry. Maybe... Maybe we should just go.
Kara SuLema: What's wrong?
Danyel: <Character>, I...
Danyel: I am past blaming you.
Danyel: There is no need for... whatever this is.
Danyel: If you have a request, I'll fulfill it.
<Character>: ...Thank you.
Kara SuLema: I'm.. not sure what happened between you two, but I'm glad you're able to move past it.
Danyel: Hm. You are an... elf, correct?
Kara SuLema: Indeed. I am Kara SuLema of the wind elf kin.
Kara SuLema: Are elves... scarce here?
Danyel: Well, I have never seen one with my own eyes, until now... if that's what you're asking. I've mostly seen illustrations of your people.
Danyel: If I could offer some words of caution, do not linger in this land, lest the Magesterium believe you to be a spy from Volkenraand.
Danyel: Anyhow, sorry for the small talk, you're obviously here for a reason.
<Character>: Are you able to weave clothes that can conceal armor or an outfit underneath?
Kara SuLema: <Character> is in grave need of clothes that are fit for a royal event. I have her/his measurements already with me.
Danyel: Prepared in advance... I don't need them, but I appreciate the effort. Soulwoven clothes are always a perfect fit.
Danyel: Now, let me take a closer look at you...
*Danyel examines you, allowing him to think about soulwoven clothes that will fit you for the Gala.*
*Danyel looks up to further examine you, before completing his examination.*
Danyel: Yes, I believe I have some designs in mind that will be adequate.
Danyel: Weaving will take time, and I prefer to work alone, without anyone looking over my shoulder.
Danyel: You may go.
Danyel: Tell me where the clothes should be delivered and I will make sure you get them.
Danyel: I shall have my SoulAlly deliver them. As much as I'd like to visit again... I am kept quite busy here in Edelia.
Kara SuLema: My deepest thanks, Danyel. It was a pleasure to meet such a talented friend of <Character>'s!
*After your meeting with Danyel, you—carrying a chair in your bag—and your dragon run back to the cliff near Oaklore Keep as nightfall approach.*
<Dragon>: That chair's taking my place in your bag... | *Annoyed wing-flapping.*
<Character>: What can I say? I said I'd bring a chair and I'm a hero of my word!
<Character>: It will be my get-away spot!
<Character>: My thinking cliff!
*You arrive at the cliff, only to find a little red-haired girl—wearing a black dress—standing where you was sitting earlier.*
<Character>: Excuse me, you're in my spot!
*The girl, startled, looks at you from behind and gasps; scene cuts to black.*

Kara: 'We're heading north to follow the river east, right? I think we can sneak past that sentry...
This isn't even the right way.
Secret cave ahead!
Kara: 'This cave... I sense the winds getting... twisted and stretched. Your adventures take you to such wondrous places!'
Kara: 'Hmm. The path splits. I wouldn't want to get lost in here...'
Kara: 'An exit! But... This doesn't seem like the ocean... We must have taken a wrong turn.'
Kara: 'The breeze to the ocean leads down that hole. Watch your step!'
Kara: 'How far underground are we? Do you think we'll pass under Betrubung swamp? Or maybe we already have.'
Kara: 'I prefer the open air, but there is beauty to here, in this magical space.'
Kara: 'That's the way out! Head over to the water's edge when you're ready.'
