*You sit on the cliffside near Oaklore with your dragon reminiscing about the memories that you had there from your humble beginnings to the present day.*
<Character>: You know... I don't know what it is exactly, but something is always drawing me back to this cliff.
<Character>: It's hard to explain. It's like... this is my cliff, you know?
<Character>: It all started here. It keeps starting here, for some reason.
<Character>: Did you know I met you here?
<Dragon>: *thinking* Cool.
<Character>: Well, as an egg... but still!
<Character>: And I thawed here, too...
<Character>: Tell you what, if it wasn't already my cliff, I will make it MY cliff!
<Character>: But how...?
<Dragon>: *thinking* Bring a chair next time?
<Character>: That's... that's a perfect idea, <Character>!
*Your dragon gets annoyed by the silence and the real reason you're making small talk about your memories.*
<Dragon>: *thinking* I know you're just stalling.
<Character>: Fine, I'm going...
<Character>: But I will be back, cliff!
<Character>: With a chair!
*You leave the cliffside and return to Sulen'Eska where Kara warmly welcomes you back after an enormously long absence.*
Kara SuLema: <Character>!!!
Kara SuLema: It has been far too long... how have you been?
Kara SuLema: And <Dragon>! It is an honor to finally meet you, little one.
<Dragon>: *thinking* I like her. She understands my social standing.
<Character>: *thinking* Riiiight...
<Character>: It's been... a mixed bag.
Kara SuLema: So I've heard...
Kara SuLema: How are you... feeling? You realize I am always here to listen to your confidences, don't you?
<Character>: Thanks Kara, I'm... fine.
<Character>: And you?
Kara SuLema: I'm also fine.
<Character>: Yeah... it's the weather, I bet.
Kara SuLema: *soft laughter*
Kara SuLema: Your mission to Espina Rosa was a success, I was told?
<Character>: It was indeed.
<Character>: This Elryn... he told me something about Akanthus.
<Character>: He told me that he lies. To everyone.
<Character>: Especially to Jaania.
Kara SuLema: ...
Kara SuLema: So my suspicions are confirmed... It's rather obvious if one thinks about it, but now we know for sure. Thank you for telling me this.
Kara SuLema: I... I've spoken with Jaania. Has anyone told you that?
<Character>: No... but I've spoken with her too.
Kara SuLema: I see...
Kara SuLema: <Character>, she's...
Kara SuLema: Misguided.
<Character>: That's certainly one... naive... way to put it.
Kara SuLema: What she is doing is wrong, yes, and we will stop her. But why and what do you think this entire group exists for?
Kara SuLema: To stop The Rose... we cannot stoop to the level of the likes of Akanthus and the ones that work under him and return the same.
Kara SuLema: We cannot repeat the mistakes of the past. There must be a measure of compassion.
<Character>: Yes, let's destroy the Rose with our compassion...
Kara SuLema: *sigh*
Kara SuLema: Is there anything else? If there are no pressing matters that require your insight right now, then you should enjoy your free time!
<Character>: Right...because I have "free time"... I've been invited to a royal "gala". By King Alteon himself.
Kara SuLema: Great gales! <Character>!
Kara SuLema: This is a wonderful opportunity!
<Character>: I know.
Kara SuLema: When is it happening?
<Character>: In a few days... I think? I'm too cool to keep a schedule.
Kara SuLema: Then we have absolutely no time to waste!
Kara SuLema: Svera!
Svera: Yes, Lady Kara?
Kara SuLema: Please take <Character>'s measurements.
Svera: At once.
*Svera sits on the ground with her knees, takes out a grey-colored ruler, and begins to measure you. This makes you feel a little anxious.*
<Character>: Is this... necessary?
Kara SuLema: Of course!
Kara SuLema: You categorically cannot appear in what you are wearing right now especially at a Royal Gala.
<Character>: Oh... kay...? What's wrong with my <Class> outfit?
Kara SuLema: Everything... The Gala will be a delicately scripted event, where diplomacy and court etiquette are paramount.
Kara SuLema: But an audience with the king himself... Oh <Character>, this is something I would never be allowed to do... not even with the Rose present.
Kara SuLema: I need to prepare an extended list of questions you absolutely must ask him!
<Character>: You're taking this very seriously.
Kara SuLema: You will have the King's ear at your disposition, <Character>. He has the power to do something about the Rose.
Kara SuLema: And even if it doesn't work out, you will at least plant the seeds of doubt in his mind.
Kara SuLema: Which may grow into a tree of distrust.
<Character>: That sounds... a little extreme.
Kara SuLema: It is an idiom, <Character>. Distrust for the Rose. The king will make a powerful ally, who can help us without the use for violence.
Kara SuLema: And if it fails, then as a last resort...
Svera: I'm done. You are... boarder than I expected.
Kara SuLema: Let's get to work then!
<Character>: What just a minute!
<Character>: What if something goes wrong? At the gala, I mean?
Kara SuLema: Why would something go wrong?
<Character>: Everything always does, Kara. It always does. It's a tradition, at this point.
<Character>: I can't fight in fancy dress!
Kara SuLema: I can do magic, <Character>, but... I can't make magical clothes.
Kara SuLema: And I don't know anyone who is able to conceal your <Class> gear under an evening gown.
Kara SuLema: This is not a craft the Vind or the Wind Elves have... we might just have to do this my way.
*For a minute, you contemplate a potential magic user that you have met before that is capable of designing clothes capable of shrouding your attire and gear. Finally, someone who comes to mind appears in your head.*
<Character>: ... might know someone who can do this.
<Character>: But he will not be happy...
Kara SuLema: Then let me come with you!
*Fades to black. You and Kara travel from the path from Falconreach through the secret cave near the lake as you and Tomix have many months beforehand. Not long after exiting the cave, you two travel above the sea and wound up on Tkaanie.*
<Character>: Phew... first time literally riding on a gust of wind.
Kara SuLema: I knew of this land, but... these winds...
Kara SuLema: They are so full of magic, and yet... so hostile.
Kara SuLema: There is a burden in them so heavy... they can't bear it.
Kara SuLema: It's... it's so sad.
<Character>: Will you be alright, Kara?
Kara SuLema: I will be fine, <Character>... Let's be on our way.
*Fades to black. While you and Kara enter Edelia, Daynel is in a class giving a lecture to the university students present.*
Danyel: -and I sincerely hope you all are ready for your finals this week!
Danyel: I'd like to remind you that not only will Baltael and I be judging you, but also Oyva and her soulsmith!
Danyel: I wanted to try something new, the stakes are high this year, so... don't disappoint me, students!
Danyel: Bah, who am I kidding? You all will do just fine!
Danyel: I am so proud of your accomp-
???: Headmaster Danao?
Danyel: Yes? I'm just finishing here.
Teacher: Ah, pardon me. There is someone waiting for you in your office.
Danyel: Very well, thank you.
Danyel: Good luck, students! Who knows, I might call some of you "Master Soulweavers" soon!
*Danyel leaves the classroom to walk down to his office where he is expected, unaware that the visitor is you.*
Danyel: Please excuse me for making you wait, I was jus-
*He stops mid-sentence when he takes a closer look at you and his smile drops.*
<Character>: Hello Danyel...
Kara SuLema: Pleased to meet you, Headmaster.
Danyel: I assume you need something from me?
<Character>: This... this was a bad idea, Kara, let's go.
Kara SuLema: What's wrong?
Danyel: <Character>, I...
Danyel: I am past blaming you.
Danyel: There is no need for... whatever this is.
Danyel: If you have a request, I'll fulfill it.
<Character>: ... Thank you.
Kara SuLema: Well... it looks like I wasn't needed after all!
Danyel: You are an... elf, correct?
Kara SuLema: Indeed. I am Kara Su'Lema from the wind elf kin. Are elves... scarce here?
Danyel: Well, I have never seen one with my own eyes, until now... if that's what you're asking. I've mostly seen illustrations of your people.
Danyel: Though I have heard rumors of elves in Volkenraand.
Danyel: Anyhow, sorry for the small talk, you're obviously here for a reason.
<Character>: Are you able to weave clothes that can conceal armor or an outfit underneath?
Kara SuLema: <Character> is in grave need of clothes that are fit for a royal event. I have his measurements already with me.
Danyel: Prepared in advance... I don't need them, but I appreciate the effort. Soulwoven clothes are always a perfect fit.
Danyel: Now, let me take a closer look at you...
*You are hesitant once again, but you decide to cooperate and let him examine you anyway.*
Danyel: Yes, I believe I have some designs in mind that will be adequate.
Danyel: Weaving will take time, and I prefer to work alone, without anyone looking over my shoulder.
Danyel: You may go.
Danyel: Tell me where the clothes should be delivered and I will make sure you get them.
Danyel: I might as well deliver them myself... I haven't been over "there" in a long time.
Kara SuLema: My deepest thanks, Danyel. It was a pleasure to meet such a talented friend of <Character>'s!
*Fades to black. Fades back in to depict you and your dragon running back to the cliffside near Oaklore upon nightfall's approach.*
<Dragon>: *thinking* You actually brought a chair with you...
<Character>: What can I say? I'm a hero of my word!
<Character>: It will be my get-away spot!
<Character>: My thinking cliff!
*You arrive at the cliffside, only to find a little red-haired girl wearing an onyx dress standing where you were sitting earlier that morning.*
<Character>: Excuse me, you're in MY spot!
*The startled child looks at you from behind and gasps. Abruptly cuts to black.*
Pop-up headlines during the quest:
Not that way! Head towards the lake.
Secret cave ahead!
