Dialogue *Moments before Eternal Sentinel left off, the Narrator gets back to its current story as the scene shows you, Lynn, and Amadeus discovering Karok's dead corpse in an abandoned clinic.* Narrator: Ahem! Where was I? Narrator: Ah, that's right. Narrator: "Sepulchure sensed the impending danger and reacted just in time!" <Character>: What!? *True to the Narrator's words, Kezeroth throws his hammer at you, Lynn, and Amadeus; upon realizing that Kezeroth is near, Amadeus tackles you and Lynn to evade Kezeroth's attack.* Kezeroth: Good. It caught your attention. *Scene pans left to show Kezeroth, who entered the clinic.* Kezeroth: I would have been disappointed if you were killed that easily. *Kezeroth throws you out of the cabin as you recover from Amadeus' tackle.* Kezeroth: You. *Kezeroth looks at Amadeus and Lynn; they appear unfazed.* Kezeroth: You must be the one I'm looking for. I saw you in my visions. The focal point of destiny. Amadeus: Hm. I wasn't aware that hallucinations were a symptom of narcissism. Kezeroth: Ha… hahahaha! Finally. Prey worth bleeding for. *Meanwhile, you are awake outside the clinic, where you are surrounded by Kezeroth's Glaceran forces.* <Character>: Ugh. *Scene zooms out to show your current predicament.* <Character>: Is there any way you can hype me up, and get to the good part faster? Narrator: I'm more than happy to! Battle! - begins gauntlet. Heal - fully replenishes HP, MP, and potions. Run Away! - returns to Frostval Storybook. *During the gauntlet, the Narrator comments on your progress as they help you to reach Kezeroth.* Narrator: Our Hero dispatches the riffraff with ease! Narrator: One slash shatters bone, and a mean punch sends guts flying! Oh… I don't think I can get away with that. Narrator: My Battleon, the Gravelyn I know, her father, Kezeroth, Karok… with enough of these elements here… Narrator: Not gonna lie… I want to see how Kezeroth vs Sepulchure shakes out, but you gotta help him!, Lynn: Father! Just a little longer! I think I can— Narrator: Kezeroth's cold literally freezes the Hero down to the marrow in their bones, but they persist! They have to! *Eventually, you reach Kezeroth; regardless if you defeat Kezeroth or not, Lynn touches Karok's body; despite showing vulnerability of the cold from Karok's body, she wields what appears to be a sword from his body.* Narrator: The cold from Karok's body is freezing her, but it fades! She— Lynn: This is a test. Don't interfere. I need to prove that I want to protect the people I care about. *Gravelyn wields a sword from Karok's body.* Narrator: Gravelyn... Narrator: This is... Hope. *Scene pans left as Kezeroth fiercely smashes you with his hammers; this angers Amadeus.* Amadeus: ENOUGH! *Scene pans right as Amadeus wields the Sword of Hope while Lynn wields a wooden sword.* Kezeroth: I was merely dispatching the distraction. It seems we're joined by another. Kezeroth: There are so many of them on this disappointment of a planet. Kezeroth: My visions gave me the impression that it was the center of the universe. Kezeroth: But it champions mice like this. *Amadeus sways with the Sword of Hope as he appears to be afraid of Kezeroth's words.* Kezeroth: I sense my brother's ice from that blade. What a surprise. Kezeroth: He was already weak, but this world enfeebled him. Kezeroth: Granted, he did become worth remembering after his family was slain. Kezeroth: What heights would you reach if I crushed that girl's skull? *Kezeroth's threat to Lynn angers Amadeus; suddenly, with very little energy you have, you hold Kezeroth's cape.* <Character>: N-No. I won't let you. Kezeroth: Tsk. What a nuisance. *Kezeroth prepares to strike you down.* Narrator: This is my Battleon. Narrator: An old foe, Kezeroth. Narrator: His brother, once again in opposition. Narrator: A legend I only know from stories. Narrator: One of my dearest friends. Narrator: A familiar blade, and— *Suddenly, the Narrator merges with you as they change the Sword of Hope's wielder from Amadeus to them.* Narrator (merged): Me. Us. The Heroes of this story. Narrator (merged): Long time no see, Kezeroth. Or actually, nice to meet you. Narrator (merged): Put your money where your mouth is, and take on someone your own size. Kezeroth: You're the one! My Destiny! Power! The greatest battle that will ever be! Kezeroth: I will usher in the end of all things, starting by bringing my axe down on a true hero's— *Kezeroth prepares to strike the merged Narrator, only for them to slow down time.* Narrator (merged): Just kidding. You would've liked that, huh? Narrator (merged): But it isn't what you deserve. Kezeroth: Ah... Ah— Narrator (merged): In my time and space, we needed limitless might and power to fight monsters like you. Narrator (merged): This world has no need for that. Narrator (merged): It healed your brother's soul, and allowed Gravelyn to be Lynn. Narrator (merged): We're not needed here, so let's end this story on a softer note. *The merged Narrator prepares to touch Kezeroth.* Narrator (merged): With a touch as soft as a sigh, the monster known as Kezeroth is no more. *The merged Narrator touches Kezeroth, removing him from existence; the Narrator unmerges with you, causing you to collapse; while you're unconscious, you see weird objects in pitch black that are presumably unrelated to your journey as Lynn and Amadeus see you unconscious.* Lynn: Dad! What's happening! Where are we? And is that <Character>? Amadeus: Lynn! You're— Lynn: Can we save the hugs for later? I think <Character>'s dying. Amadeus: This isn't about <Character>... but, fine. I'll carry <him/her/them> back. *Your mind regain consciousness as the scene is still pitch black.* <Character>: ... Narrator: Dot Dot Dot. Haha! Awkward. I thought I'd be dragged home by now. <Character>: That was... crazy. For a second, I saw the past, present, and future folding into each other. <Character>: And you were there, fighting Kezeroth alongside my friends and foes. Narrator: That would've been you one day, but there was a little temporal mishap that sped up the schedule. Narrator: You're the real deal. I know you would have defeated him without my help. Narrator: It's just that it would have taken a chunk out of your life, and a lot of sacrifice. Narrator: After all you've been through, and what you'll have to go through later… I wanted to be a little selfish. Narrator: I hijacked the narrative to close the chapter early. Wish I could have done it smoother. *After the Narrator sends its apologies to you, you ask their name.* <Character>: Hey. Who are you? What's your name? <Character>: I was kind of harsh the entire time, so at least let me thank you. Narrator: Well, tell me? Who am I? You're me. You're another version of me. You're the Hero of another story. *Regardless of your option, the Narrator confirms your answer of that they are the hero from another time and space.* Narrator: That's your answer, and it is the truth. *You hear voices of Artix and Aria as you slowly regain consciousness.* Artix: Aria! Our friend is waking up! Aria: I have blankets ready! Artix: What about the friends that helped bring us all back home? Aw, did they already leave? Narrator: Guess that's my cue. Narrator: Where I'm from, the story's several centuries ahead of yours. Narrator: Whatever your story throws at you, I know you'll always make it in the end. Narrator: Take care, and happy Frostval! *You regain consciousness on the snowy cliff overlooking Falconreach Bay, where your dragon touches you on what they have missed.* <Dragon>: So, what did I miss? | *Inquisitive rumble* <Character>: Haha, I'll catch you up to speed after some Moglinberry Juice. <Character>: A warm mug under the stars sounds pretty good right about now. Narrator: How about something more flashy? *You, your dragon, Aria, and Artix are on the snowy cliff overlooking Falconreach Bay, where they look at an aurora.* Narrator: And as the hour approached midnight, the Hero gazed up into the sky. Narrator: In that moment, an aurora connected two skies. The Hero managed to catch a glimpse of— <Character>: —Someone just like me. *Scene pans left to the aurora before fading to black.* Complete Quest Sword of Hope (Kezeroth Reward) - opens Sword of Hope (Shop).
