I hereby submit my candidacy for these Elemental Championships. My credentials are as follows. Name: Tel’rion Race: Drakel Element of Participation: Water Class, if applicable: Salt Mage Any abilities that require elaboration:Tel’rion is able to control salt, whether in granular, crystalized, or dissolved form, using a form of telekinesis that works only to that purpose. He cannot affect the salts claimed by the body, as the pull of a living system far outranks his own claim on the material, but salts in something rejected by the body (notably sweat) are fair game. Liquids with dissolved salt can be manipulated along with their salt content, but not in such a way as to pierce flesh or grip an opponent; though this may be possible, Tel’rion lacks the required power of concentration. In a similar way, he is unable to mold solid salt forms like clay; they continue to retain their shape and function even when he is controlling them. He is able to break crystallized salt into pieces, but only in the same way that one might snap a stick with his bare hands. Tel’rion may also split salt water into its component acids and bases, and by retaining a quantity of salt in each may control these substances as well. The strength of these compounds depend on the purity of the salt water solution and the salt used… separated sweat will be far less effective than lemon juice, while a mixture of pure water and a more potent salt will split into some more nasty compounds. In a similar vein, he can speed, slow, and even reverse the process of salt being dissolved into a liquid. He may even force more salt than would normally dissolve into a solution, as would be possible with heat, or limit the amount of salt that can be dissolved in a liquid similar to how cooling it down would affect the process. There is, however, no change in the actual temperature of the liquid, for Tel’rion has no power over liquids. Only salt and its byproducts. < Link to my first post is here. Thus it is written, thus it shall be.> Weaponry: Tel’rion bears a hollow staff made of a poisonous, crystallized salt that he ironically calls Dragonsalt. It is, oddly enough, not harmful to creatures of a draconic origin, and is a reasonably strong toxin in most other creatures, including non-draconic humanoids. The staff is topped with a metal dragon’s head, into which is built a Drakel dehumidifier that uses the hollow portion of the staff as a reservoir for the water it gathers out of the air. At the start of the competition this hollow is completely filled with water that is saturated with Dragonsalt, about a gallon’s worth of material. He also wears an athame of crystallized Dragonsalt on his belt, together with six clear potion bottles. The three on his left side are acids; the three on his right are bases. Both are derived from a compound of Dragonsalt and water, but unlike the salt affect all creatures equally. Neither weapon has any magical properties save a strengthening enchantment which increases their resilience to about halfway between that of wooden and metal items of the same type. Being made of Dragonsalt, they are themselves slightly poisonous and may be controlled by the Salt Mage. Secondary physical description for reference's sake: For the human who thinks all Drakel look alike, Tel’rion would be no exception. He is of medium height and weight, his scaly complexion is of the standard green color, he is neither particularly young nor particularly old, and he has no defining injuries or odd physical traits. Presumably another Drakel would be able to pick him out of a crowd, though there is little reason even one of them would do so. The one thing that might set him apart is the look in his eyes; they are bright, extremely bright and alive. They shine with an intelligence and an intensity that borders on madness, and would make any sane creature just a bit uncomfortable. Tel’rion wears blindingly white robes trimmed in a deep navy blue. Around his waist, a blue leather belt holds a dull crystal dagger and six bottles of a clear liquid, each neatly tied in its own place. In his hand is a large crystal staff of the same dull crystal, topped with an ornate, rusty dragon’s head, metal maw open wide. On his back, Tel’rion wears a small cloth pack, its deep blue coloring contrasting sharply with the white robes beneath it. It looks about the right size for one rather large tome and appears to be full to capacity, as if it was made specifically for the book which is currently inside it. Considering you've come in second twice, I doubt I have to go through my usual rigamorale of warnings regarding potential aspects of your chosen powers. I know how you work too well to bother, really. Approved, and may he be as interesting a contestant as he is on paper in the bio. ~Ronin
