Kara SuLema: You must control your aggression.
*Melissa glances back toward you.*
Melissa: ...What's s/he doing here?
*You stare blankly, unsure what Melissa's problem is.*
Kara SuLema: Er... well, I asked <Character> to be here.
Kara SuLema: <Character> is a hero, after all. A defender of the people!
Kara SuLema: Which is um... which is what the Vind is striving to achieve.
Kara SuLema: To come to the aid and defense of those who need it.
*Melissa is silent.*
Kara SuLema: What I mean is, we aren't here to seek glory, or... or bring revolution to Swordhaven.
Kara SuLema: We're here to defend those that cannot defend themselves, to free those who are unjustly imprisoned.
Kara SuLema: To shelter those with nowhere else to go.
Melissa: ...
Melissa: That's it? That's really it?
Melissa: Do you actually think The Rose will stop trying to find Sulen'Eska?
Melissa: That with every victory the Vind achieves, The Rose will just... shrug their shoulders?
Melissa: The Vind is supposed to be the resistance! We should be doing some resisting!
Kara SuLema: You don't understand...
Melissa: Please. Explain, then.
Kara SuLema: The Sanctuary.
Kara SuLema: I... I can't let that happen again...
Melissa: ...That was the resistance before the Vind, was it?

Kara SuLema: They tried to reach too far. They became too much of a threat to The Rose.
Melissa: And you're afraid what happened to them will happen again?

Melissa: ...I need to go swing my sword at something.

Melissa: I'll stay in the camp.

Kara SuLema: They're not going to give up, and if we're always just defending- just... reacting to their actions...
Kara SuLema: Then we're always going to be on the back foot.

<Character>: There's still the possibility of peace negotiations. Princess Victoria mentioned that she would do her best to get Jaania involved.
Kara SuLema: Yes... you're right, of course. There's still hope.
Kara SuLema: I suppose... If The Rose is not willing to meet, or the negotiations fail...
*Kara closes her eyes and hangs her head momentarily.*
Kara SuLema: Well... at a certain point, we'll have to bring the fight to them.
Kara SuLema: Thank you for listening, <Character>.
<Character>: Sometimes there's no choice left.
Kara SuLema: You're right, of course. You're right.
Kara SuLema: Please, excuse me, <Character>. I have a lot to consider and plan.
Kara SuLema: Actually... Do you mind checking in on Melissa? Just to... make sure she's not getting into trouble?
<Character>: I don't mind at all. Take care, Kara.

*Near the base of the shroomcase, you find Melissa taking out her aggression on various training dummies.*
Melissa: Kara sent you to check on me, did she?
Melissa: Make sure I'm not out of control?
<Character>: Pretty much.
<Character>: You've uh... really done a number on those training dummies.
Melissa: They had it coming.
<Character>: Did they? Whatever did they do?
*Melissa glances back toward you.*
Melissa: ...I was joking.
<Character>: Oh.
Melissa: It's... It's frustrating, you know?
Melissa: I want to do something. I can't just... wait.
<Character>: And these poor dummies pay the price.
Melissa: Alas, that seems to be the case.
Melissa: Unless...
Melissa: How about we spar? You and me?
Melissa: It'll be good training. Real training.
Melissa: For whenever... whenever the day comes.
<Character>: That... Sure. Yeah. You're on!
Melissa: Prepare yourself, <Character>! I'm not holding back!
Battle! - begins battle with Melissa.
Heal - fully replenishes HP, MP, and potions.
Run Away! - returns to Sulen'Eska.
*After the battle, Melissa appears impressed with your performance.*
Melissa: Ha!
Melissa: Yes!
Melissa: Yes! That's what I'm talking about.
<Character>: How did I do?
Melissa: Well, you beat me! I'm... ouch.
Melissa: Yeah. You definitely won.
Melissa: I can see now why Kara and the others hold you in such high regard.
Melissa: Not that I had many doubts from the stories I've been told, but...
Melissa: Well, it's another thing to experience it first hand.
<Character>: How are you feeling?
Melissa: Better now. Alive! Good.
*Melissa appears to have whetted her appetite for battle, at least for now.*
Melissa: I don't feel like I need to go and tear up a Rose checkpoint, if that's what you're getting at.
<Character>: You know... we might have a chance for peace talks with The Rose soon.
Melissa: Yeah... I think Mritha mentioned something about that...
<Character>: Maybe...
Melissa: Yeah. Yeah, I know.
Melissa: I'll stay out of trouble, I promise. I just hope Kara can realize that, even should the worst come to pass, we're not helpless.
Melissa: We can fight back. Reach farther. Make a difference.
<Character>: I think she knows. But let's hope it doesn't come to that.
Melissa: Right. Yeah.
*Elsewhere, in Swordhaven, Jaania stands before her magic mirror; she hears a knock at her door.*
Jaania: I- What is it?
Akanthus: Have you given more thought to King Alteon's request?
Jaania: What- What was it, again?
Akanthus: To attempt a parley with the Vind.
Akanthus: Peace negotiations.
Jaania: ...
Akanthus: Lady Jaania?
Jaania: Yes, that should be fine.
*Akanthus lingers, unsatisfied with Jaania's uninterested response.*
Akanthus: Would you have plans to attend, should such an opportunity come to pass?
Jaania: ...No. I am... I will be busy.
Akanthus: ...Very well.
*Jaania continues to look into her magic mirror; scene fades to black.*
