Dialogue *In Dragesvard, Odgne and two Ice Dragons are burning the fungal growth covering the city, which they succeed on making an opening.* Odgne: At last! Mritha, I'm on my way! | *Victorious roar!* *Odgne enters the city; back on the ground, you and the Alliance respond to Odgne's help as Mritha calls to her.* Mritha: I just got word from Odgne! The dragons made it through the cap! <Character>: Have there been any more attacks on the DragonLord camp? Mritha: Odgne didn't mention anything about that. Seems like they're safe, for now. Vseslava: This Odgne is your dragon, Mritha? Mritha: As much as I'm her DragonLord. It's a partnership. Why do you ask? Vseslava: I am curious why the only small dragon we have seen contributing to the fight is <Dragon>. Vseslava: Are other dragons of that age not fit for combat? Mritha: If your only experience with young dragons is <Dragon>, I can see where that confusion comes from! Mritha: While Dragon Amulets can be used to grow a dragon, without a strong bond or enough energy, the dragon will quickly revert. Mritha: <Dragon> is also... special. Most young dragons aren't nearly as powerful as they are. <Dragon>: You know it! | *Prideful roar!* Mritha: Indeed! Mritha: Most DragonLords who come across their amulets either find their partners in the wilds, already significantly grown... Mritha: ...or are found by DragonLord scouting flights. Mritha: Although in recent times, Captain Lestrad put a stop to those, as well. Mritha: I get that he's trying to keep the DragonLords safe, but it's such a selfish existence. Mritha: There are also a number of scattered temples and groves across Greenguard... Mritha: ... where young dragons and new DragonLords can train, but most of them have been lost. Mritha: I think you've been to Sunbreeze Grove, <Character>? | The only one I'm familiar with at all is Sunbreeze Grove. Vseslava: Thank you for the explanation, Mritha. Vseslava: Despite the Magesterium's knowledge in combating dragons, we know surprisingly little about their growth. <Dragon>: Maybe I can introduce you to Elysia when this is all over! | I'd like to learn more about <Dragon>, too! Ostromir: We managed to get our hands on an egg recently, did we not? Vseslava: Ah, you must have been on a mission when the news came, Ostomir. Vseslava: Apparently the convoy was ambushed, and the egg went missing. Ostromir: Is that so? Such a shame. Ostromir: ...I suppose it matters little now, anyway... *Ostromir contemplates about the missing egg.* Kara SuLema: Ostromir, if you need to talk— Ostromir: I am fine, thank you. G. M. Hansa: We should keep moving. I'm getting a bad feeling about the fungus. <Character>: Do you sense something, Hansa? G. M. Hansa: It's still all a blur. Like searching for a beetle in a pile of seeds. I see movement, then I lose it. <Character>: Let us know if you need a break, or if there's anything we can do to help, okay? G. M. Hansa: R-right. Kara, do you mind keeping an eye on me? G. M. Hansa: If this trend continues, the further into the city we go, the more my vision will be obscured. Kara SuLema: Of course, Hansa. *You fight your way through the streets of Dragesvard, battling various Hollow creatures before reaching a Fungal Behemoth; after defeating it, the Alliance look down on an opening from the main stalk of fungal growth.* <Character>: What do you see, Vseslava? Is there a way down? Vseslava: I... I think so. As far as I can tell. But it quickly falls off into darkness. <Character>: Mritha, do you think you can let Odgne know what we found? Captain Lestrad should be happy with the news. Mritha: Of course. <Character>: Hansa, how are you doing? G. M. Hansa: I'm blind. *Scene shifts to your dragon, who is exhausted.* G. M. Hansa: More so than usual, I mean. G. M. Hansa: With the density of the spores, and the sheer amount of fungus everywhere, it's all a mess of spots and shapes. <Character>: Is there anything we can do to help? G. M. Hansa: Quiet. If I can just focus... on the main stalk... follow it down... G. M. Hansa: There's so much movement for just fungus... Ugh. G. M. Hansa: It's too far. Too obscured. Maybe if we descended further I could get a clearer view. Kara SuLema: Hansa, you needn't push yourself so hard. G. M. Hansa: I must try. G. M. Hansa: If we can get some dragons here to help clear the air, or somehow shock the fungal system to pause for a moment... I'm sorry. <Character>: Let's go back to the DragonLords then. How are things, Mritha? Mritha: Odgne got the message. Everything should be all set for us to— *Mritha is very alarmed as she received Odgne's message.* Kara SuLema: Mritha? What's wrong? Mritha: Oh no. No! It's worse than last time. Much worse! <Character>: Mritha, talk to us! Mritha: The DragonLord camp is under attack again! Odgne was injured in the initial eruption. Mritha: We have to get back to the camp. Now! *Meanwhile, in the Rose airship, Akanthus, Z, and Pozu have installed the dangerous artifact as a power source for the airship.* Z: So, Akanthus, as you can see, we've managed to get the airship powered with the uh, power source you procured. Pozu: "We", he says! Z: My insight was invaluable! Pozu: Sure. Akanthus: Well done. Pozu: If I may, I do have one concern about this uh... power cell. Akanthus: Yes? Pozu: The amount of power it contains is beyond what this airship requires. Pozu: In fact, without proper regulators, we could run into some major issues if the trithril shielding fails. Pozu: The ship has no armaments, and the engines aren't built for this sort of output... Pozu: What do you need this much potential for? *Akanthus carries Pozu.* Akanthus: In case of emergencies, of course. Pozu: Ah, yes, haha, fair enough! Always good to be prepared! Z: You're satisfied with the work then, um, Akanthus? Akanthus: I am, indeed. How long until we're able to set out? Pozu: That's more of something I should be speaking to the Lady about, isn't it? Akanthus: You have a habit of talking back, gnome. Pozu: My name is Pozu Funfoot, human. Akanthus: I am Lady Jaania's general, in charge of all matters that she cannot be bothered to deal with, with her... occupied schedule. Akanthus: So please, give me the details, Pozu Funfoot. *Akanthus puts Pozu back on the ground.* Pozu: Eh. Fair enough. With the new power cell, we'll have to run a few more tests, make sure everything's configured properly. Pozu: The engines need a bit more work, too. Had a couple of misfires on the way over to Swordhaven. Gotta get to the bottom of that. Pozu: So... soon. We'll be ready to sail... soon. Akanthus: ... Akanthus: Z, make sure the gnomes have everything they require to finish their work. Z: Y-yes sir! *After Akanthus leaves, Z and Pozu give their lasting impressions about him.* Pozu: ...He's an intimidating one, eh? Z: General Akanthus is second only to Jaania in The Rose! I'm... relieved he was happy with our progress. Pozu: Huh. Probably a good thing I didn't invite him to card game night then. Pozu: From what I can tell, he'd easily sweep the floor with us and the other engineers! *Pozu pauses before Z gives a worrying look to him.* Z: Er... Y-yes. Probably. *Scene fades to black.* Complete Quest Loot for DCs - opens TWF Loot for DCs shop. Other information If the player doesn't have Self-Containment Unit v15 (All Versions) equipped or shown, they will lose 5% of their maximum HP each time they enter a new screen or beat a monster encounter. One section of the streets contains a potion crate, which grants 5 HP and MP potions to players. The suspiciously fresh cup of hot cocoa acts as a one-time healing source during the quest. (Message: Do you want to drink this suspiciously fresh cup of hot cocoa?) Pop-up headlines during the quest: quote:
Vseslava: "The spores are getting denser here. Let me know if your Containment Unit needs adjustment." Kara: 'Are you okay? Don't forget your Containment Unit!' Breathing in the spore-dense air irritates your lungs! -5% HP Ostromir: "This city is such a maze. How inefficient! Where do we go from here?" Hansa: "Are you sure this the right way?" You found a crate full of potions! Better take some! You found a crate full of potions! But you can't carry any more. Kara: "Even with so much life around from the fungus and the Hollow... the city feels so dead..." Ostromir: "Do you hear... water? I thought any would be frozen this far north." Vseslava: "What is that Hollow doing? It doesn't seem to be paying us much mind." You can't quite reach this tantalizing cup of hot cocoa with the Hollow Dragonslayer in the way. The hot cocoa is warm and comforting... but who made it? Surely not the Hollow? Unless... Mritha: "I wonder what happened to everyone who lived here. There are a lot of refugees in Dragonsgrasp, but still..." Kara: "So much growth... I can only assume... No, it's not worth thinking about." Hansa: "Hmm. That Hollow up ahead seems different somehow. Besides its size, of course."
