*You are in a deeper part of The Fissure; as you search for Jaania and Akanthus, you listen to the conversations from the retreating Rose Soldiers.*
Rose Soldier: Please don't hurt us! We've been ordered to retreat, not fight!
Rose Soldier: Lady Jaania told us that if we encountered you, to let you pass. We just... we just want to get out of here!
Rose Soldier: ...What I wouldn't give for a warm mug of Moglinberry juice right now...
Helmeted Rose: I hope Lady Jaania will be okay down there. It doesn't feel right, abandoning her.
Rose Guard: Akanthus is still there, too. They're unstoppable together!
Helmeted Rose: Yeah. You're right. There's nothing to worry about. Soon, everything will finally be back to normal.
Thoughtful Rose: How far down does it go...?
Thoughtful Rose: All the colors and glows... It's... dizzying.
Thoughtful Rose: ...Urp. I think I'm going to be sick.
Burdened Rose: I know these supplies aren't really needed, but it just feels like a waste to leave them behind.
Burdened Rose: The surrounding pressure isn't helping much either...
Burdened Rose: I'll have to ask my partner for a turn with the helmet once he's done gawking over the edge.
Anxious Rose: Lady Jaania's down there.
Anxious Rose: Once she's done, we won't have to worry about magic or monsters anymore...
Anxious Rose: If I were in any condition to fight, I'd defy her orders and defend this ladder to my last.
Anxious Rose: ...But I believe in her. I want to be able to go home to my family, and live out the rest of my days in the peace that Lady Jaania will bring.
Anxious Rose: ...Okay. I think I'm ready to go. Lady Jaania, our hopes rest with you.
*Eventually, you and your allies find and confront Jaania and Akanthus on the Scaffold's lift; Jaania can be seen performing a soulweaving ritual.*
<Character>: Jaania! You need to stop!
*Jaania hears your voice.*
<Character>: We won't let you go through with this!
*Scene zooms in to show the confrontation between you and your allies on the left and Jaania and Akanthus on the right.*
Jaania: <Character>. Alteon, Amadeus.
Jaania: ...Warlic and... Alexander.
Jaania: And a member of the Magesterium... with one of those abominations, nonetheless.
Jaania: ...All here to stop me from saving the world.
<Dragon>: Hey! Don't forget about me! | *Fierce roar!*
Jaania: I don't understand!
<Dragon>: I said— | *Cut-off retorting growl—*
Jaania: We have the same goals, <Character>.
Jaania: We both want to protect people. We both want to save the world.
Jaania: By arbitrating the flow of mana, I will ensure that none will ever have to suffer again.
Jaania: Isn't that what you want, too?
<Character>: ...
<Character>: I don't want people to suffer.
<Character>: But one person in charge of everyone's fates isn't the answer. Especially not you.
Jaania: And how would you protect everyone? You are only one hero. You cannot be everywhere at once.
Jaania: What if you manage to stop me? Your Magesterium 'allies' will restore the status quo.
Jaania: You've seen the horrors they are responsible for. Are you proud to be complicit in their future sins?
<Character>: The Shapeless Empire is in shambles. It can be rebuilt; better, and kinder.
Zvezdana: ...
Jaania: Rebuilt on the backs and blood of how many? While you're off rebuilding Nieboheim, what of Falconreach?
Jaania: You're only one hero, <Character>.
Jaania: But let's say you could somehow solve everyone's problems, everywhere.
Jaania: How is that any different from my plan?
Jaania: Is your problem simply with me, then? With my values?
<Character>: You were so blinded by your own ambitions that you couldn't see the crimes of your own organization!
<Character>: You trusted Akanthus as he went around doing as he pleased, deceiving you the entire time!
<Character>: Even now, you still have him by your side.
<Character>: You say you want to save everyone, but you used your own people's lives to buy yourself time!
Jaania: I admit I have made mistakes.
Jaania: ...You're right, <Character>. I am imperfect.
Jaania: But everything I am doing, everything I have done— Can't you at least understand what it's all for?
Jaania: It's clear you have your doubts. So I have a proposal for you.
Jaania: You are a weaver of some skill, are you not?
Jaania: Let us weave this spell together.
Jaania: If you are afraid of my judgment, join me. Balance me.
Jaania: Together, we will save Lore. As equals.
<Dragon>: And what about me?! | *Attention-seeking grumble!*
<Character>: I'll handle this, <Dragon>.
<Character>: No, Jaania.
<Character>: I won't join you. I'm not like you.
<Character>: Lore doesn't revolve around me.
<Character>: I may only be one hero, but I'm not the sole solution to Lore's problems. And neither are you.
<Character>: Even when we're gone, others will be inspired. They'll rise up to protect what they hold dear.
<Character>: There will always be more heroes.
<Character>: Puppeting the fate of everyone, everything... It isn't right.
<Character>: People deserve their freedom. They deserve the chance to not only make mistakes, but to discover their own happiness and joy.
<Character>: They deserve to live.
<Character>: Not only that...
<Character>: Jaania, I just don't trust you.
*Jaania acknowledges your rejection of her proposal.*
Jaania: I... I see.
Jaania: I respect your resolve, but you cannot be allowed to interfere.
Jaania: Akanthus, I must finish my preparations. Hold them off, please.
Akanthus: As you say.
*Akanthus walks closer to your allies.*
Akanthus: ...Well?
Zvezdana: Sobieslav, traitor to the Magesterium! The Shapeless decrees your exile to the Void!
*Jaania hears Zvezdana's judgment as she continues to performs her soulweaving ritual; Zvezdana throws the Pearl of the Void at Akanthus, however, at the critical moment, Hesperrhodos—Jaania's SoulAlly—blocks her target, destroying the Pearl; this causes Hesperrhodos to be thrown into the Void instead; Zvezdana becomes shocked as the Magesterium's solution to stop Akanthus did not work; Hesperrhodos teleports back from the Void to Jaania's side at the Scaffold's lift.*
Jaania: Well done, Hesperrhodos.
Akanthus: It would seem that The Shapeless has other plan–
*Alexander throws a white fireball at Akanthus' helmet, revealing him to be Sobieslav.*
Alexander: Warlic, why don't we see just how immune to magic this tin can really is?
Warlic: While we may not be able to hurt him, I'm sure we can keep him occupied with our combined abilities!
<Character>: Warlic, are you sure you should be—
Warlic: Don't worry about me, <Character>. I know my limits.
Warlic: Zvezdana, perhaps you'd like to assist as well?
Zvezdana: ...Gladly.
*Despite Akanthus' immunity, Warlic, Zvezdana, and Alexander cast their combined magic at him, who blocked it with his sword.*
Akanthus: A challenge.
Akanthus: But not enough.
*Akanthus walks slowly at Warlic, Zvezdana, and Alexander as he blocks the combined magic from them.*
Warlic: There's your opening, <Character>! Get to Jaania!
*With Akanthus distracted, you, Alteon, and Amadeus approach Jaania.*
Jaania: I... I didn't want it to come to this.
Jaania: I wanted you to see reason, to be a part of the world to come.
Jaania: I wanted you to be happy!
*Jaania blinks as she speaks to Alteon.*
Jaania: Alteon, you were happy, were you not? Before the Vind told you what to believe and turned you against me?
Alteon: I was content. I believed what you were doing was right...
Alteon: But that came at the cost of suffering for others. That is not peace. That is not happiness.
*Realizing that Alteon will not join her, Jaania blinks as she speaks to Amadeus.*
Jaania: Amadeus. I brought you into The Rose, I trusted you and you trusted me. I accepted you as you were.
Jaania: Do you no longer trust my judgment?
*Amadeus removes his illusion to reveal himself as Sepulchure.*
Amadeus: I never did.
Jaania: And was that so wrong? To believe in people?
*Sepulchure turns back to his Amadeus illusion; Amadeus briefly looks at the Doom device before focusing back at Jaania.*
Amadeus: Yes.
*Realizing that both Alteon and Amadeus will not join her, Jaania blinks as she speaks to you again, hoping that she will change your rejection with her words.*
Jaania: ...
Jaania: <Character>...?
<Character>: No.
Jaania: Then... I believe we've said all there is to say.
Jaania: It seems you've left me with no choice.
*Left with no choice, Jaania casts an icicle from her soulloom hand, preparing to fight against you, Alteon, and Amadeus.*
Jaania: For my vision to become reality, you must be removed.
Battle! - begins battle with Jaania.
Heal - fully replenishes HP, MP, and potions.
Invite Alteon and Amadeus - invites Alteon and Amadeus as Guest A and Guest B respectively.
Fight Alone - removes all guests from your party.
Run Away! - returns to Outpost Yeden.
*Jaania falls to her knees after being defeated.*
<Dragon>: Take that! We win again! | *Victorious rumble!*
Jaania: No. No, no, no!
<Character>: Jaania, it doesn't have to end like this. We—
Jaania: End? End?!
Jaania: You think... I'm going to give up on my dreams... everything I've worked for, sacrificed for...
Jaania: Everything... Everyone... Just like that?!
Alteon: Jaania...
Jaania: No... No!
Amadeus: On your guard, <Character>.
Jaania: Hesperrhodos!
Jaania: With me!
*Jaania stands up as Hesperrhodos appears and touches her chest, signifying that the battle against Jaania is not over; scene cuts to black.*
