Warlic: Won't you join us for a moment, first? This tea is something special. Warlic: Nythera procured it during one of her adventures to the southern empire. Nythera: It really is quite nice. Warlic: And where is Lynn? She's welcome to— Sepulchure: She's safe in her room. We're leaving, blue mage. Sepulchure: Now. *Sepulchure shifts to his Amadeus illusion.* Amadeus: If anything happens to Lynn... I will kill you, Alexander. *Scene shifts to focus on Alexander, who hangs his head after being threatened by Amadeus' command on killing him if Lynn was harmed.* Alexander: ...Right. Nythera: No harm will come to her here, Amadeus. Amadeus: You had better hope not. Warlic: Hold on a moment, Amadeus. Warlic: What's the plan? Warlic: A direct confrontation with Jaania and Akanthus would probably be rather... destructive. Amadeus: ... Alexander: You were just going to charge into the tower, weren't you? Warlic: Whoever- whatever Akanthus is, I will need to inspect him in person to figure out his secrets. Warlic: I have my suspicions, but Magesterium experimentation is not my area of expertise. Amadeus: You haven't sent Nythera to investigate? Nythera: They're quite particular about dragons in the Shapeless Empire. Nythera: Or, I should say, they were. Nythera: The empire has entirely collapsed. Nythera: So even if I managed to sneak in safely, it's unlikely I could find anyone willing to help me pore through Magesterium records. Warlic: We're on our own there. Amadeus: I don't care what he is, I want him dead. *As Amadeus plans to kill Akanthus, he devises a plan upon returning to Swordhaven.* Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Then we ingratiate ourselves to the court. Amadeus: Queen Victoria seems more reasonable than her father, at least. Amadeus: And your reputation will help in that endeavor. Warlic: A reasonable plan. Amadeus: Then we delay no further. Warlic: Agreed. *After agreeing with the plan, Alexander asks Amadeus that he is still in pain.* Alexander: Amadeus, are you still in pain? *Amadeus pauses before confirming it.* Amadeus: Yes. *Meanwhile, the newly awakened fungal Tytan, who is carrying the city of Dragesvard in its back, walk across Tyndur's Depths as the dragons follow it; back inside the Tytan, the DragonLords, the Dragonslayers, and the Alliance try to make sense what happened after waking it.* Kara SuLema: Is everyone... Is everyone okay? <Character>: Looks like we're all in one piece. What just happened? Captain Lestrad: Getting word from Hemlock now—, Mritha: Odgne's telling me that— *Mritha angrily glares at Captain Lestrad as he was rudely interrupting her communication with Odgne.* Captain Lestrad: ...After you. Mritha: Odgne says the Tytan has risen up out of the water. Mritha: It's... absolutely massive. Galanoth: How is the evacuation proceeding? Captain Lestrad: A few dragons were injured when the Tytan rose up, and I imagine anyone remaining in the city is shaken. Captain Lestrad: But the evacuation is still proceeding apace. Mritha: There is another very important thing to note, though. Mritha: The Tytan is on the move. Kara SuLema: Where is it headed? Mritha: Looks like it's going toward the mainland of Greenguard. G. M. Hansa: Then we have to act fast. <Character>: <Dragon>, can you try talking to the Tytan? *Your dragon looks at left and right directions before speaking to the fungal Tytan as it did with the Swordhaven Tytan.* <Dragon>: Um... Big mushroom Tytan! Can you hear me? | *Slightly nervous roar!* *The fungal Tytan remains silent upon hearing your dragon's commands.* Kord: Well, what now? *Your dragon glares at Kord.* Ostromir: This was a possibility to be expected. But there is always a way forward, is there not? Vseslava: ...Ostromir... Ostromir: There must be a way to accomplish our mission. Vseslava: Hansa, how are you feeling? Can you see anything else now that the Tytan has awoken? *Hansa looks down at the ground as she reveals more of the fungal Tytan.* G. M. Hansa: The Tytan has... uncoiled as it rose up. There is... G. M. Hansa: There is much Darkness deeper within... G. M. Hansa: Similar to the nodes we destroyed to awaken the creature. G. M. Hansa: There is a node larger than the others- the core of the Tytan, perhaps? <Character>: Then that's our next goal. Kord: What, that's it? Kord: What will even happen if we destroy it, if we can even reach it? Ostromir: If it is the central source of mana for the Tytan, shutting it down or cutting it off will stop its activity. Ostromir: Basic, really. Kord: How do you know that? Destroying the other nodes just served to wake it up! Kord: How are we even going to get out of here?! Galanoth: Enough, Kord. Kord: ... Galanoth: We stand among heroes and legends. Galanoth: As long as we push forward, all will be well. Captain Lestrad: Our dragons remain outside for a reason. As long as our connection remains, they will be able to locate us. Kord: I... see. Mritha: If there aren't any other objections, time is of the essence. <Character>: Stay close, everyone. *You fight your way through Aged Hollow creatures, including an Ancient Growth, as you find the core of the fungal Tytan; during your exploration, you can find and open a sack.* Open Sack - adds Peculiar Pellets to your Temporary Items. quote:
Something Odd... Inside the sack, you find a lot of dust... and a pair of peculiar pellets. From their smell, presumably edible, if a bit stale. Whatever could they do...? OK Upon approaching the sack if you already have Peculiar Pellets: (Pop-up: Whatever its origins were, the sack now contains nothing but long lost dust.) *While you continue to find the core of the fungal Tytan, meanwhile, in a vision, a young blonde haired Azaveyran boy named Siemil is playing with a stick before being called by his mother that dinner is ready.* Mother: Siemil! Dinner is ready! Mother: Make sure to wash up before you eat! Siemil: Coming, mama! *It is revealed that the vision of Siemil was a memory of his soul in a contained phylactery that Jaania is experimenting upon on her attempt to summon an Elemental Spirit using her Soullooms on her study in Swordhaven's Ivory Tower.* Jaania: No... no, no, no. Again. Jaania: Again! Jaania: You will obey! *Scene shifts to focus on Siemil's soul in a contained phylactery, where in another of his memories, Siemil is growing crops and arrives at Nieboheim with a cart containing green eggplants; as he arrived at Nieboheim, however, two Magesters orders the Shapeless to devour him as a sacrifice; as the Shapeless prepare to devour him, Jaania appears and try to release him from his painful memories for her plan of "the greater good".* Jaania: Rest, Siemil. Release these painful lost memories of the past. Jaania: I will relieve you of name and suffering. Jaania: Lend me your power for a higher purpose. *Jaania casts an intensive spell on Siemil's soul; soul threads appear from Jaania's hand as it intertwine with Siemil's soul; as she continues the spell, an Elemental Spirit is created from Siemil's soul as a part of her hair turns white; her spell greatly effect the Ivory Tower and its surroundings in Swordhaven as Jaania is exhausted upon successfully summoning a dark blue Elemental Spirit, whose features have golden mechanical parts on head and body as well as a rose on its mouth and the letter H on its shoulder.* Jaania: ...Ha... *The exhausted Jaania prepare to name her Elemental Spirit.* Jaania: ...Hesperrhodos. Jaania: I name you Hesperrhodos! Jaania: Elemental Spirit of Obedience! *Back inside the Tytan, the Alliance, the DragonLords, and the Dragonslayers have reached the fungal Tytan's core, signified by the large Fungal Nodule.* <Character>: That must be our target. Mritha: It's... It's massive... G. M. Hansa: It's the biggest source of magical energy around. I imagine it is as obvious to you as it is me. Captain Lestrad: No point standing around staring at it, right? Let's get down there and cut it down! Kara SuLema: As much as I hate to say it, we may need to split up. Kara SuLema: It's held in place by fungal tendrils. If we can dislodge those, we might be able to access it better. Kara SuLema: But if we all went one at a time... It would take far too long. <Character>: Right. If you joined the Rose Faction: <Character>: Hansa, Captain Lestrad, come with me. If you joined the Golden Hand Faction: <Character>: Ostromir, Vseslava, stick with me. You can provide support, and I'll keep you safe. If you joined the Vind Faction: <Character>: Kara, Mritha, let's do this. *Scene shifts to focus on your dragon, who is looking at the core of the fungal Tytan; scene fades to black; in pitch black, The Great One discuss how you and your dragon will stop the fungal Tytan.* Geno: A threat approaches. Kratos: Surely <Dragon> and that hero will take care of it? Geno: ... Kratos: ...Right? Complete Quest Other information If the player doesn't have Self-Containment Unit v15 (All Versions) equipped or shown, they will lose 5% of their maximum HP each time they enter a new screen or beat a monster encounter. The suspiciously glowing mushroom cap acts as a one-time healing source during the quest. (Message: Do you want to eat this suspiciously glowing mushroom cap?) One section of the Tytan contains a potion crate, which grants 5 HP and MP potions to players. Pop-up headlines during the quest: quote:
Breathing in the spore-dense air irritates your lungs! -5% HP Captain Lestrad: "So. Ostromir. Vseslava. What's your story? I can't say I know much about the Magesterium." Ostromir: "Our... story? The Magesterium's Proclamation was sabotaged, and we are here to clean up the mess." Captain Lestrad: "They only sent the two of you? With no weapons or combat expertise to speak of?" Vseslava: "None that you know of, DragonLord." Captain Lestrad: "Fair enough. But still, just the... the two of you Golden Hand types?" Ostromir: "If we failed, more would have followed in our stead. But now that Nieboheim has fallen..." Ostromir: "Ah. A way down. Watch your grip. This looks unstable." Kara: "Everyone in one piece? Good." Hansa: "Our goal awaits." Captain Lestrad: "...I am sorry to hear about your home, Ostromir, Vseslava. You have my condolences." Kord: "..." Kara: "It is a painful world we live on. Many lose all they know by no fault of their own." You can't reach this oddly attractive glowing mushroom yet. You offer some of the mushroom to your companions. No one else seems to want to try it. Hansa: "Lady Jaania and The Rose would seek to end such tragedies. Mritha: "A dead end. You're sure this is the right way, Hansa?" Hansa: "I can only see the general direction to go. I leave the intricacies of the navigation to you all." A hoard of potions! How did these get here? Were the Hollow stocking up? Kara: "..." Vseslava: "It appears we are to descend once more. I only hope we do not have to make a hasty retreat." Ostromir: "Is it just me or has it been getting... brighter?" Kara: "Watch your step, Hansa-" Hansa: "I can walk on my own, thank you." Vseslava: "Our destination is just up ahead, if my readings are correct... What is THAT?"
