Amadeus: The campaign against the Vind has run into some setbacks. Amadeus: The ones who attacked the prison and broke out a number of high priority magical criminals, my lady. Amadeus: General Akanthus suspects they may end up targeting the Oculus Tower project. Amadeus: On that matter, General Akanthus is requesting more funds and troops. Amadeus: Very well, my lady. Amadeus: And a final note– Amadeus: There are reports that <Character> has been seen in the company of the Vind. Amadeus: I take it you read Magus Hansa's report on the Sandsea incident? Amadeus: Very well. I shall take my leave. Trust Amadeus: It is I, my lady. I bring a request from King Alteon. Lost and Found Amadeus: Well, sir? I assume you've come to a decision? Amadeus: It will be done. Amadeus: A threat to...? Amadeus: ...Well, sir, s/he is a hero. I imagine s/he has a habit of showing up wherever villains choose to make their moves. Amadeus: Of course not... sir. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Sir, do you mean to monologue, or shall I get on with my business? Amadeus: With all due respect, sir, yes. Tournament of Champions / (Easy) ???: My Lady. I see you're not at your mirror today. ???: Am I interrupting? Amadeus: I'm here with the monthly reports. Amadeus: First, the Rosewood. There have been some reports of vandalism, as well as some creatures breaking free. Amadeus: But it has all been taken care of, thanks to the efforts of Magus Hansa and General Akanthus. Amadeus: Hansa has continued to be very efficient. She will be sending another batch of magical creatures to the Beastmaster soon. Amadeus: Speaking of Hansa, and moving onto the next subject; the Sandsea. Amadeus: The settlement of Duat is flourishing under Rose leadership. However, attempts to access the floating city have not been successful. Amadeus: It will be done. Amadeus: I have. General Akanthus has not been subtle in his campaign. Amadeus: Predictably, Vind activity in Betrubung Swamp has not abated. Amadeus: A border guard force was recently completely wiped out by the rebels. Amadeus: However, with increased Vind aggression, more are starting to believe in our cause. There are a lot of new recruits coming in. Amadeus: Regarding Oaklore, there are the usual rumors and occasional bickering. Amadeus: Amityvale's prospering. Our troops are keeping the werewolves at bay. Magus Neron is doing a splendid job. Amadeus: There is, however, a problem. Amadeus: There are rumors that Safiria, the vampire queen, is becoming more active, along with other creatures of the night. Amadeus: As for Falconreach... Amadeus: A preliminary outpost has been assembled at the foot of Kaer Sierra and our mages have begun proceeding to the Fissure. Amadeus: Will this visit of yours be before or after the ball? Amadeus: Oh! Amadeus: My apologies, I almost forgot. An unusual bird, carrying this letter, came in this morning. Amadeus: A blue hawk. Amadeus: Is everything alright, My Lady? Amadeus: To whom, if I may ask? Amadeus: Right away. Amadeus: Pardon me? Amadeus: As well as... I possibly can, My Lady. Amadeus: No. Amadeus: I'm not like Neron. Amadeus: My Lady. The Mage Tower Amadeus: ... Amadeus: For the last time, we were sent as reinforcements, by the decree of King Alteon. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: We're here to help, whether this... oaf wants it or not. It Begins... Amadeus: ... getting really tired of your... Amadeus: *snort* Amadeus: No. Amadeus: It's what you do, after all. Amadeus: You solve everyone else's problems... Friday the 13th Interlude Amadeus: I'm pretty sure it's too late for that. Amadeus: Treat them like you would any monster. They are just dead bodies, being used by Doom. Nothing more... Amadeus: So stop getting emotional, get it together, and do your job. Calamity Amadeus: I am... thankful... that you have destroyed that thing. Doom Weapons are... Amadeus: ... a nuisance. Amadeus: Just so we are clear— Amadeus: I'm not doing this for you. Amadeus: Hnngh... Amadeus: There... Amadeus: Completely... ugh... purified. Amadeus: You will not mention this to anyone... Amadeus: You owe me this... Amadeus: "Hero"... Queen of Swordhaven Amadeus: My Lady, when should I expect your return? Amadeus: Who will— Amadeus: Very well. Amadeus: I believe he is surveying the castle for damage and dealing with any remaining golems. Amadeus: Certainly. Amadeus: Yes, my Lady. Amadeus: The King is absent and Princess Brittany, who's the next in line, is in no condition to rule over Swordhaven. Amadeus: That leaves you. My Queen. Amadeus: ...Will you be able to learn something from it? Amadeus: Certainly. Amadeus: I will leave you to it, then. Amadeus: Yes, Tessa? Amadeus: At once. Amadeus: You've called for me...? Amadeus: I'm sorry? You will have to be more specific. Amadeus: ...From what I've gathered, they don't want Jaania to interfere with their business. Amadeus: If she has not informed you personally, I cannot disclose that information. Amadeus: Jaania has left to investigate the Fissure, a very old phenomenon south of Kaer Sierra. Amadeus: At first, she believed it to be a giant geyser of raw mana. But as of yesterday, she's not so sure anymore. Amadeus: That is why she has been so openly attacked by these people from Azaveyr. Amadeus: From the way you asked... you know of the Magesterium, correct? Amadeus: ...As you wish. The Queen of Roses Amadeus: General Akanthus. Amadeus: Lady Jaania has returned from her voyage and asked me to deliver these reports to you. Amadeus: She expects you to familiarize yourself with them and report to her as soon possible. Amadeus: I didn't, obviously. Amadeus: These documents were sealed. Out of Control Amadeus: No. I refuse. Amadeus: Do you know what this is, Akanthus? Amadeus: And if I tell her that her trusted general is working behind her back— Amadeus: This artifact is Evil, Akanthus. Amadeus: ...It shall be done. The Spells We Weave Amadeus: What is that idiot thinking, having me work on this in the lab here, in the city? Amadeus: If I were to make a single mistake, all of Swordhaven would no longer have to worry about that Tytan's siege. Amadeus: I don't plan to. Amadeus: I must warn you against using this to destroy the Tytan. Amadeus: If I've modified this to your specifications... Amadeus: ...the destruction and ensuing magical fallout would likely destroy Swordhaven as well, if not more. Amadeus: Unless you're not– Into the Abyss Amadeus: If anything happens to Lynn... I will kill you, Alexander. Amadeus: You had better hope not. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: You haven't sent Nythera to investigate? Amadeus: I don't care what he is, I want him dead. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Then we ingratiate ourselves to the court. Amadeus: Queen Victoria seems more reasonable than her father, at least. Amadeus: And your reputation will help in that endeavor. Amadeus: Yes. Awakened Depths: Epilogue (All Versions) Amadeus: Just about. Amadeus: What sort of disguise would the great Blue Mage...? Amadeus: I see. An... interesting choice. Amadeus: Shall we proceed to the gate? Amadeus: Excuse me! I'm terribly sorry. Amadeus: There appears to have been a misunderstanding. Amadeus: Timothy. Timothy Fairhill of Fairhill farms. Amadeus: You see, there was a monster attack, and my grandpa Warren got caught by a magical blast. Amadeus: Went a bit... odd after that. ...Even changed his clothes. Amadeus: Indeed, indeed. We've traveled quite far to seek treatment from The Rose. Amadeus: Well, of course! It didn't seem safe to travel with everything else going on. Amadeus: So, good gate guard, and sir knight, I apologize again for my grandpa's careless words. Amadeus: And I do hope he has caused no offense. Amadeus: I'm afraid not. Side effect of the hallucinations, you know. Amadeus: Thank you, good sir. Come along now, grandpa. The Point of No Return (Part 1) Amadeus: ...I am losing my patience... grandpa. Amadeus: Time? Time is running out. Amadeus: Thank you. Amadeus: This is not the throne room. Amadeus: Very well. Amadeus: It seems the game is up. Amadeus: It has been a while, Circe. Amadeus: Read the room, Warlic. Amadeus: Hence the need for disguise. Amadeus: It would behoove us not to annoy the Queen's trusted... advisor. Amadeus: To put it plainly, General Akanthus of The Rose is plotting something that may threaten all of Lore. Amadeus: He attacked me when I questioned him, and I was forced to flee. Hence my disappearance. Amadeus: Warlic has been unable to determine Akanthus' nature as well, which is of great concern. Amadeus: What is it? Amadeus: I suppose I got lucky. Amadeus: Perhaps I should ask how the cruel, self-serving, mercenary Circe became the lapdog of Swordhaven's royal family? Amadeus: You are... surprisingly protective of Her Majesty. The Point of No Return (Part 2) Amadeus: That is correct. Amadeus: I could hazard a guess. We need to move. Now. Amadeus: I lived. You, on the other hand... Amadeus: General Akanthus is plotting to do something with an explosive device saturated in Doom, currently onboard your airship. Amadeus: I suspect he means to detonate it in the Fissure. Amadeus: I was coerced into destabilizing the device under the guise of increasing its energy potential. Amadeus: When I refused, the General attacked me and I was forced to flee. Amadeus: I found the Blue Mage Warlic, who confirmed my suspicions. Amadeus: Whatever Akanthus' intent, it does not align with yours. Amadeus: I have not. Amadeus: Hmph. Amadeus: A... A little help here, Blue Mage? Amadeus: ... From the Embers Amadeus: ...You may not be able to stop them, but you can still slow them down. Amadeus: Send your knights to seize the tower and the airship from The Rose. Amadeus: By force. Amadeus: They'll buy some time. Amadeus: Hmph. You're unwilling to make necessary sacrifices. Just like— Amadeus: Agreed. Amadeus: I'm getting out of here, before it's too late. Amadeus: There's nothing left to do. None of you are willing to take action. Amadeus: We tried, we failed. Regardless of Akanthus' plans, we don't even know what Jaania's intent with the Fissure is! Amadeus: And I don't intend to wait around— Chasing Answers Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Finally. Amadeus: While intriguing, I fail to see how this information helps us stop him. Amadeus: I'm going. Amadeus: Ugh. It's too bright. Outpost Outskirts Amadeus: So. Amadeus: Which way to your encampment? Amadeus: Then let's not stand around. Amadeus: No. Amadeus: I do not obey you or your "Shapeless". Amadeus: ... Amadeus: ... Welcome to Outpost Yeden Amadeus: ...Dome? Amadeus: ...Very well. Amadeus: What do you want? Talk Amadeus: <Character>. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Surely you have better things to be doing with your time? Alteon? Amadeus: He is king no longer. Amadeus: It is amusing that his daughter has accomplished what Sepulchure could not. Amadeus: Dethroning that... Amadeus: ...It matters not. His power will be of use. Lynn Amadeus: She is as safe as can be. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: <Character>. You are... resilient. Amadeus: If I... Amadeus: Never mind. But you will visit her when this business is concluded. Amadeus: Hmph. Magesterium Amadeus: You want my opinion... hero? Amadeus: ...Very well. I presume the drone will not mind. Amadeus: The Magesters are desperate. The citizens cling to hope, but they have lost everything else. Amadeus: However, they all hold faith in their Project Casca. Amadeus: We should follow along. Their technology and power is undeniable. Project Casca Amadeus: Wonderful. Amadeus: You phrase it as if you're doing us a favor. Yet turning to outsiders seems out of character for your... Shapeless. Amadeus: You must be quite desperate. Amadeus: ...One final thing, then. Amadeus: After this project of yours, after The Rose is dealt with... I will not be beholden to the Magesterium or your Shapeless. Amadeus: At the cost of signing up for whatever Project Casca is. You will tell us the details. Now. Amadeus: I doubt that such a powerful and important object was merely misplaced. Amadeus: Good for you. What about Project Casca? Amadeus: So, Project Casca aims to replicate this feat. Amadeus: If they are disconnected from the Mana Core, what separates their status from that of Akanthus? Amadeus: I am aware of them. Amadeus: But the answers do exist? Amadeus: ... Amadeus: You are no longer "king", Alteon. Do not presume to speak for your people. Amadeus: ...Hmph. Amadeus: Let us get on with it, then. Amadeus: ...Agreed. We cannot have you holding us back, Alteon. Amadeus: Prepare your blade. Hawk in the Sky Amadeus: Agreed. Amadeus: ...Very well. Amadeus: Sounds like a simple enough job, if the former king has recovered from our "practice" earlier. Amadeus: They're choosing to fight us. That is their own decision to make. Amadeus: If not this war, then— Amadeus: You didn't notice the shift in troop movements? Amadeus: Hmph. Crash and Burn Amadeus: Your Magesters did well. We would have known by now if the Doom device had detonated. Amadeus: Do not slow us down. Amadeus: Hold. Amadeus: ...Doom. Amadeus: No. Amadeus: Do you? Amadeus: Do you?! Amadeus: Do you know how much I suffered cleansing that... dragon of yours?! Amadeus: I cannot save everyone, <Character>. Amadeus: Do not speak to me, Alteon. Amadeus: If it will get you two to shut up, then fine! Amadeus: I will try. Amadeus: Hmph. How much Doom can one potato hold, anyway? Amadeus: I know my limits. I am of no use here as a maddened wreck. Amadeus: I will go to the edge, but no further. Amadeus: Pray that it is enough. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Alden, turn away. Do not watch. Amadeus: ...Suit yourself. The Only Path Amadeus: Amadeus... is fine. I would rather shed that old name as I have others before. Amadeus: I regret nothing. Everything I have done, I have learned from. And I still survive. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: No promises. As original dialogue, with 'Talk' option gained new dialogue; all other options becomes inaccessible when approaching Amadeus: Talk Amadeus: It's the past. I am no longer that man. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: I will speak no more of it. Leave me to rest. I must recover before the next mission. The Arrival Amadeus: It's happening tomorrow, then? The Flame Within Amadeus: Enough talk. We have our objectives. At Fissure's Edge Amadeus: We don't have time for this. Amadeus: They're stalling for time. With every word, Jaania and Akanthus get farther away. Amadeus: Agreed. The Final Steps Amadeus: Then let's stop wasting time. Amadeus: Keep up, Alteon. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Now that you mention it, there is something slight. Amadeus: Not quite a weight, though. Is this something we should be concerned about? Amadeus: And I don't believe I am feeling the same weight as Alteon. Convergence (Part 1) Amadeus: I never did. Amadeus: Yes. Amadeus: On your guard, <Character>. Convergence (Part 2) Amadeus: Do not fail. Amadeus: So, <Character> proves victorious. Amadeus: <Dragon> needs to titanize, right? Amadeus: I can assist with that. Amadeus: Blue Mage, <Character>, we will do this together. | Blue Mage, we will do this together. Amadeus: It will all be up to you, <Character>, <Dragon>. Amadeus: Now! The End of Magic (Part 1) Amadeus: To speak of such lofty goals and dreams, only to throw it all away for what, a personal grudge? Amadeus: Truly pathetic. Amadeus: Speaking of which, any sign of <him/her/them> or <Dragon>? Amadeus: A second tremor. Not the device, then. Amadeus: Good riddance. Amadeus: What do you mean? Can't we fight this Aequilibria? Is it following you, <Character>? Amadeus: Explain. Amadeus: Then what can we do? Amadeus: What about my daughter? Amadeus: And there's no way to stop it? No way to defeat this Aequilibria? Amadeus: I won't let you do this on your own! Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Fine. Amadeus: Akriloth! I need your power! Amadeus: I had made prior arrangements for fight or flight. Flight it shall be. Amadeus: Yes. For obvious reasons, I've had to keep his existence secret. Amadeus: I had him travel south, keeping out of sight of The Rose. Amadeus: While the spell was being prepared, I called for him to be ready. Amadeus: Alteon, I would hope you have not forgotten how to ride. Amadeus: As for Zvezdana and that... thing... Amadeus: Akriloth will just have to use his claws. I'm sure that will be fine. Amadeus: I will drop them off up top, then head straight for Warlic's tower. Amadeus: I will let Nythera know of all that has transpired, and to prepare to flee should the spell fail. Amadeus: Do not thank me. Do not fail. Amadeus: Same goes for you, <Character>. You and <Dragon>. Amadeus: Do whatever you must to put a stop to this. Amadeus: Hmph. Book 3: Epilogue Amadeus: So <he is/she is/they are>. Amadeus: <Character>. <Dragon>. Amadeus: We're leaving Greenguard. I think I've well exhausted the leads for my condition here. Amadeus: I have no specific destination in mind. We will go where the road takes us. Amadeus: Hmph. Amadeus: I wanted to thank you. By preserving Lore, you saved my daughter. Amadeus: Consider your debt to me... repaid. Amadeus: ... Amadeus: Perhaps. Amadeus: Come, Lynn, Akriloth. It is past time we set out. Amadeus: ...Farewell, <Character>. And... Amadeus: ...You've gotten stronger since we first crossed blades. Amadeus: It was... fun, fighting by your side. Amadeus: Should our paths cross again... I would not be opposed to it.
